I have to give a big personl thanks to john at ccw ( http://www.ccwheel.com )

it was a VERY tight time frame for getting rims to me on time for the mam event and he pulled it off, without them i could not go and he got them out to me in time, litterally RIGHT in time, i stopped at the airport to pick them up from the cargo area about 1 hour before we left for the track, the rims simply kick ass!!!

if you want sweet, affordable, and very light track rims, john is the guy...heck they are a cool street rim too!!!

and about 1/2 the cost of the kenesis counter parts.

Why did you switch from kinesis to CCW's? Are they lighter than the Kinesis wheels?

i needed another set to bring to the track for backup, if i cord one set, i can still run on the others.... so i really didnt 'switch' i just 'added' :-)

i will run the full tread kumos on the kenesis rims and use those to drive to/from tracks, tracking in the rain, and as backup tires...... the new ccws get the racing slicks and see track use only.

+53mm or somthing, im not sure but john at ccw knows exactly when you tell him the car. i think he goes by bckspacing, so he said 7.5" backspacing or somthing like that

Did you get center caps? I'm still waiting for him to send me center caps after, hrmm 4 or 5 years? He doesn't respond to my emails when I randomly send one asking if he has my center caps yet : ). They are very nice rims. I like mine, maybe more if I had (ehem) center caps. It's been awhile.

I am incharge of emails and have yet to receive one from you. Do you have street or track wheels? If you have track wheels then you cant use center caps. We have tons of avail caps for the street wheels though made specifically for the Rx7, so there is no reason why we would ignore you. We regularly send out caps to people just because they lost one of theres (not quite sure how since it comes in from the back, so it cant fall off if the wheel is on the car, but people manage either way), we certainly make sure previous customers who never received theirs get their caps. Your most likely emailing an old email address that isn't used anymore. Give us a call, since its been 4-5 years, in the future just give us a call when you have problems through email.

I want to buy some 17X10 CCWs in the wintertime for next season. Will I need to do aftermarket toe links and trainling arms? I have adjustable coilovers already so I guess the other thing I would have to do is roll my fenders right?

for our specific setup we haven't required any additional modifications to fit. no rolling of the fenders either to my knowledge or johns.

I got my CCW 17x10s earlier this season and have completed 4-5 HPDE. New trailing arms and toe links are not necessary. I believe the offset is about 51 mm but again like Damian mentioned John knows exactly what the offset has to be for either the 17x10 or 18x10 combinations.

With the 17x10 combo I did have to raise the car back to stock height. Right now I only have 500 lbs springs in front. When I go to 650s I may be able to lower it a bit.

BTW, I chose 17s over the 18s based purely on the cost of tires. I don't intend to run Hoosiers or slicks; Kumhos or Toyos are sufficient for me.

Right, I have the CCW's in 18X10 running 285/30/18's and they fit fine. No modifications necessary. The only place I had any potential rubbing was in the front fender liner at full lock. Not a problem on the track. The 17X10 fitment does have the potential to rub at the top of the fender liner and possibly the fender lip if you run your ride height too low. This is due to the larger diameter of the tire over the stock setup.

The CCW's are very nice wheels, at a decent price and John's communication and dedication are ideal.

i didnt know there even was center caps for these rims, i didnt oreder any and didnt need any since they will only see track use :-)

ill post a more 'technical' thread on the rims later, with weights compariosns etc.

My understanding is that the track wheels are hubcentric and don't require the center caps. The street wheels are aligned to the hub by the center cap. I'm not sure whether the center caps actually fit on a track specific wheel.
