A cover for the ABS unit, which is already under the hood, has just got to be one of the dumbest ideas I have ever seen posted here. No wait, a carbon fiber cover. There, now it's perfect.

This is how to enjoy a car. Put key in ignition. Turn key. Drive fast until broken. Fix and repeat.

Done best with the hood down, and as little excess garbage attached as possible.

thats a fairly naive mindset.... some people enjoy things visually as well , not just physically.

would you date/marry a woman with the face of a troll, simply because you enjoy the way she "rides"?

Hmm. Would you date a woman you never "rode", but who did have a carbon fiber IUD?

Im assuming you never pop your hood and your engine bay looks like ass?

some people like to go for the whole package since for majority of us, this is one of our dream cars. we dont just want performance, we want aesthetics as well.

i dont neccessarily agree with the abs cover, as i got rid of mine, but i do get it, it is ugly looking.

that is the worst comparison ive ever heard. just because people want a abs cover doesnt mean they dont drive their car.... so how is that relevant to "would u date a woman u never rode":icon_tdow

ok back on topic...

i see show car all the time with carbon fiber covers or at least polished aluminum shrouds.

if you looking for a clean and tucked engine bay look and also want to keep your abs you dont have many options besides these to things or doing some trick custom coating with actual abs with nickel and chrome. (see this before btw...i was killer)

Insane Driver 02-22-12 08:07 PM

Anything covering the abs unit would look better. It’s such an eye sore when looking at the engine bay.

JDMRevolution 02-22-12 08:10 PM

If anyone can get in contact with shine im sure we can get enough interest to get some made.

JDMRevolution 02-29-12 02:15 PM

Bump for some updates?

oo7arkman 02-29-12 03:44 PM

One of my shock tower clay molds broke(my fault) and the other turned out pretty good. I have had zero time to try and lay fiberglass in it to test it but hopefully i will this coming weekend. If that works out i will begin the abs cover, center section, and driver side area molds.

XLR8 03-01-12 09:51 AM

I'm deleting my ABS. After reviewing the results and realizing its an awesome place for my water injection tank to sit, it just makes sense.

Still like to see a nice cover on the market for you guys.

If you had a mindset that was srictly function without any form then you wouldn't own an FD. A small cover to improve the engine bay looks is just that. I think we can sit aside our continual studies of increased thermal dynamics and suspension geometry advancement to do a simple mod that might just look cool....

I'll add, I was calling Shine today anyway, mabe I'll mention it.

Fortune_Seven 03-01-12 10:07 PM

Interested to hear what they say, would be sweet if they made the part!

FD3S2005 03-01-12 10:36 PM

http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/1465/imagekda.jpg

seen the car at the carshow a couple times, first time i seen the engine bay.

TinMan09 03-01-12 11:34 PM

bet that shit weighs a bit.

FD3S2005 03-02-12 12:20 AM

nah i dont think so, its thin stuff.. also could just use enough to cover the abs and leave everything else alone. id prob paint mine black myself, not a fan of the way it looks
