Can someone tell me where the other end of this hose goes?

I removed the stock air intake from my car today to install a pfs intake and i realized that it won't fit in my car. While removing the intake, I noticed the hose on the right side of the air box wasn't connected to anything. Can someone tell me where it goes? i tried checking the manual online and it shows the hose, but it doesnt show where the hose connects to.

also, for anyone out there who has installed a pfs intake, do i have to remove the air pump to install it?

I think that is the one that has no where to go actually. No need to remove the airpump for the intake. are you getting the intercooler duct and SMIC with it?

pakitagn 09-19-07 07:52 PM

yeah i'm waitin to buy the intercooler... i wonder why the box wouldnt fit...

did you make sure you put the hole of the box facing the intercooler? I had it before but I had the whole package intake/ic/duct and it fit fine with the air pump.

The airpump shouldn't be an issue, but I don't think the stock airbox will fit with the PFS IC.

Be sure to remove the lower brackets used for the stock airbox. Then the PFS airbox and SMIC should fit sorta fine.
Though the lower left hand corner of the PFS airbox may rub against your hood.

That extra hose is the "hose to nowhere". Don't worry about it.

for some reason i couldnt get the two big hoses to fit. I found a 90 elbow to get one of the intake hoses to fit, but it didn't fit quite right. I guess i'll give it another try this weekend. also, where can i get this piece of piping? i checked everywhere but i can't find one.

i'm trying to get the pfs intake to work with the stock intercooler until i can get my hands on the pfs one

The PFS intake uses the stock intake piping. If you check their website, there's a pdf install guide you can download.

yes that is the "hose to nowhere" on JDM cars there is a charcole filter or something like that on the end of it. if you look inside the OEM intake you will see its not connected to the intake stream and doesnt pass through the filter or anything its main perpose is sound dampening.

hah, I remember when I got my aftermarket intake and was wondering the same thing. Yeah, it just drops down to nothing.
