From broken to almost fixed

It's already been a long time since I got my rx7 (nearing 2 years). It's a 1998 model Type R Special Edition. It says N3F1 everywhere, so I knows it a 265bhp version.

The previous owner of the car didnot take the slighest care. When I got the 7, the engine was blown, the front bumper was missing, The tail lights were cracked, horrendous exhaust setup, very bad paint, all within 50000kms approx (31000miles). To be honest after I got the rx7, I was lost. I used to drive a 2000GTS celica, so you can understand.

I'm from Bangladesh, where this is the only Rx7. No rotary workshop, no knowledge regarding this type of engine and complicated turbo setup. Thank god, that I came across this wonderful forum. Only bad thing which i can think about this forum are the horror stories people start reading about once they HIT the search button. I used to have bad dreams. After 2 years I can understand that it's not that bad, if you maintain and follow the instructions smartly, which many knowledgable people have contributed to this forum, it's pretty easy.

It's been almost 2 years, since i got my engine built. I'm running with 89/90RON octane (thats the only option we get in Bangladesh). Running synthetic Mobil 1, and it's been a great 2 years. Agreed that I dont floor my car at every opportunity I get, but thats because of the octane.

I wanted to write up this thread for a long time, however didn't have enough courage (flame). I'm attaching pictures of before and after. If I, a guy from Bangladesh, without any kind of resources can take care of the rx7, anybody can.

I also like to thank the following people:

1. Kyle (thank you for answering all the dumb questions i could come up with). You have shown patience. Your advice has helped me greatly.

2. Tyler, thanks for the encouragement and advice.

3. Damian, your posts are simply full of great information.

And to everyone else who make this forum a great place.

Things done till now:

Rebuilt engine (2nd year, running even better), knightsport CAT, Kakimoto catback, Mazdaspeed AST, Profec Type S, Mazdaspeed springs, HPS pads, painted calipar, full new paint (been quite sometime), c-west knock off front, amemiya tail light finisher, decent stereo, blitz boost gauge, Blitz TT (shows boost peakhold, vaccum), 99 front combos and a few other things here and there.

to this

Areas where i went wrong: The front bumper (too low), the offset of the current wheels are wrong, i have mazdaspeed wheels, but no money for the tyres, am saving on that, trying to get 99 spec front and wing. Done with the reliability mods, except the water temp gauge. And i need a set of OEM shocks.
