Ripzta, if you downloaded a sound clip of an engine with a gnarly idle, then just burn a cd of that, and drive around with your stereo turned up.

You want a rough idle, because you think it sounds cool. That's one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.

Here's a solution that's cheap. Disconnect two of your spark plug wires, and cut a big hole in your muffler. That should do it.

u could always just completely remove the exhaust manifold :)
but seriously though youve gotta love the sound of a ported rotary

But could my fuel pump be the reason why its idling so bad? My ECU is stock, and everything else except for the motor. Air Pump, EGR valve or any of the vacuum lines leaking/malfunctioning would be my guess. I had him check everything except for my air pump, which I will ask him about tommorow. Ideas?
Street port+stock ECU =:nono: Get some sort of ECU and get it tuned.

Im not sure if this is bad but you could unplug your airpump. I haven't done it but someone was showing me how it would idle if I were to remove it.

My air pump connector disconnected itself a little while ago at the strip. I previously accidentaly broke the little clip that holds it together when I pulled the engine. Anyways, after the run I thought I blew my engine because the idle was rough. That was scary!

Edit: I forgot to ask! If only the secondary ports are ported, will the engine still idle rough?

drive around without a muffler..:D you'll definitly get a BARP BARP BARP

i second that!! :D

when i change my exhaust, i was curious how it would sound without a muffler. (and gutted cat). Its a bit loud and not BARP BARP BARP, but Brappp.. brappp... brappp... hehehe

less expensive than getting your engine ported... ;)

I don't think it's the rough idle Ripzta's after, but the distinctive exhaust note of a ported 13B REW :) I have a large street port job from KDR, and the motor definitely has a more aggressive exhaust note (especially with full open exhaust)...oh...my idle's nice and smooth even without an air pump (running a midpipe and RB dual tip)...BTW I have a Power FC (which compensates for the lack of airpump load on the motor).
