Boosting 5psi then POP backfires

I just replaced my turbos... i test drove the car then i started to boost then at 5psi the car would jolt bad and wouldnt go anywhere just kept on popping... it drives fine with no boost, i had to adjust the TCA it would clatter like crazy and it was annoying... maybe i overextended it... aould it be the wastegates??? or any help...

Sounds like a boost leak.

did you check the map sensor hose?

shazzam00 03-29-07 08:32 PM

yes... it doesnt idle wrong it just stops boosting and pops and pops...

check yoru plugs and put a timing light to each plug wire while engine running see if the coils aren't starting to miss and give out. sounds almost like ignition break up.

it was working fine right before i only replaced them because there was oil inside the piping and under the turbos...

i hate how all boost problems seem to make the car boost at 5psi.

did you damage the OMP accidentally while changing the turbos?

same thing happened to me just recently....i replaced a lot of parts (downpipe, o2 sensor, fuel filter) and still no fix.

i finally folded after a monsterous head-ache and took the car to RR&R and they changed out the fuel pump....no fix...

turns out to be a bad primary injector... try it running a few tests on yours...

check your boost sensor, i had the same problem for about six months and i kept replacing parts and i finally replaced the boost sensor and problem was fixed
