I'm sorry. Let me correct myself. I entered the wrong data at KBB.
It's shows a private party sale price for a 93 FD in Mill Valley, CA in excellent condition at $15,930.
But my point still stands. These cars depreciate. Virtually all cars do...Corvettes, BMW M3, 350Z's, Lotus Elises. A KBB track of my car over the years, and even the last 4, has shown a steady depreciation. For moconnor to claim that his car is suddenly showing that's it's appreciating while others continue to depreciate is nonsensical.

Gimme a break. These prices guides are used all the time. They don't have the value of every car freaking memorized. If you drive into a dealership and want to trade in your car how do you think they arrive at a value to offer you?

Have you ever gone from one dealership to the next to see a trade in value on your car? I have. What two different ones will offer you is remarkably close. They come up with a figure right away. They don't call an auction or wait to go to one.

The only thing nonsensical is your aversion to facts. If you you had been paying as close as you claimed attention to the blue book values over the years you would recall a rash of posts in mid 2006 discussing the huge bump in blue book values for FDs. cf.

I'll need to dig a little more through my notes, but I think I actually had a mid $17k valuation after this realignment.

Check out posts by djseven or Fritz in the FS section - they both sell lots of these cars and have a very good sense of the market, e.g., https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...7&postcount=21

I'm still curious if you think that an FD with 5 miles has the same market value as an FD with 50k miles. KBB says so.
