7_rocket 06-26-05 11:33 PM

pearlyellow 06-26-05 11:34 PM

They used to appear frequently on ebay and then stopped. Now they have started showing up on ebay again. Why don't you email the seller and ask him if he has any affiliations or is a member of this board.

It should be designed using 3D CAD program and then CNC machined. The tank should be cut out from a thich wall aluminum tubing and threaded with hole for the top and bottom tank cover to bolt on. The top and bottem tank cover should be CNC machined from a billet aluminum. The Mazdaspeed logo should be programmed and machine from the CNC machine at the same time when doing the top on the top tank cover. I hope the person who design and fabricator put a grove between the tank and the cover for O-ring installation to prevent any coolant leak.

I just wanna know who made it, lol

Tripple 7's 06-27-05 12:14 AM

Im curious because I just purchased this one on ebay, and it looked alot nicer than the other AST's ive seen, and I wanted to replace the stock one asap.

BC-FD3S 06-27-05 12:40 AM

I don't think there is a manufacturer. I think it is made from the guy who design it and machine by his own machine shop. If the price is lower I will get one this rather than the RX7store one which I had and doesn't really like it at all.

So you gonna give us the sellers name or the ebay link ????

Tripple 7's 06-27-05 12:11 PM

the guys name on ebay is fatfeet200.

pearlyellow 06-27-05 03:55 PM

To anyone that is interested, I e-mailed the guy to see if he has or can get any more of those. I'll update when I find out anything, I know I'd like one.

HarrisRacing 06-27-05 04:11 PM

Yes

RotorMotor 06-27-05 04:24 PM

im interested as well

papsmagu 06-27-05 04:37 PM

looks realy nice, does it come in two sections (top and bottom) if so, what is between the two .....gasket or o-ring??? Just curious. i like it because there is not welds on the top, where most aluminum AST fail

BC-FD3S 06-27-05 06:37 PM

On the CAD image in his Ebay listing it shows O-rings. I want to hear from people who actually bought and use it to see if there is any problem. I would want to replace my leaking RX7store AST (started to leak after few months) with this nice looking one.

InsaneGideon 06-27-05 11:05 PM

Just what the FD needs: more o-rings!:D

pearlyellow 06-28-05 12:52 AM

Got in touch w/ the guy and he said he makes em. Workin out w/ him how many he can make/ how long it would take/ how much. Keep ya updated.

Tripple 7's 06-28-05 03:37 AM

and here I thought my car was going to have a unique AST, at sevenstock o-well, JK

SpeedKing 06-28-05 03:46 AM

That's a nice-looking AST, however, since it's not an official Mazdaspeed item, the logo makes it phony.

HarrisRacing 06-28-05 07:22 AM

Sure...

Yeah...sure it's phony. It doesn't say Megan Racing on it so we're the only ones who are ever gonna know. I say it's JDM Mazdaspeed directly imported from Japan, designed first for use on the 787B racecar and now in production for the FD. HAHA

Herblenny 06-28-05 09:48 AM

I'm interested in one also.. This is turning into a GB.

Necros 06-28-05 10:54 AM

Agreed. I'm interested, too.
