I was told by an RX-7 knowledged guy that if it idled funny to stay away unless you are prepared to fix some probs right off the bat. THe first FD I test drove did that same thing. That car had mods like Blitz BOV, Blitz SMIC, Apex S-AFC etc. Car pulled hard, but I stayed away. Ended up finding out lots about that car. Phew good thing I didn't by it!

This is very common, and shouldn't be hard to fix. It is probably the "clutch swtich" or the "1-2 switch". Do some searches for these and you will be able to learn more.

It could also be your TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) out of adjustment. This is also fairly easy to adjust. Do a search to learn more. Again, very common.

PS- This is not necessarily a sign of bad things to come, despite what some might say.

It's probably the clutch switch -- a cheap and easy fix.
