Am I crazy, or is my airpump pulley not correct?

Ive been trying to figure why the OEM 5Kpk1355 belt does not fit (way too loose). My hunch is that the airpump not OEM and the pulley size is wrong.
am I nuts? Attachment 753600 Attachment 753601 |
Without going to the shed to look at my car. I thought there was an tensioner idler pulley.
|
sleeping on it, I think it might be the airpump off an automatic.
|
The diameter of the pulley on my airpump is close to 5 inches. Its hard to get an exact measurement while it is on the car.
You may still be nuts :) |
i'll take crazy for $200 alex :P
um does the thing still have part number sticker on it? that would tell a/t vs m/t and or a JDM one |
For the Daily Double....I have an OEM belt part number of N3Z1-18-381-9U for the manual. N3Z2-18-381-93 for an automatic. You could check those against the belt you have.

i don't have a good pic, but that pulley is smaller than mine. i did learn that the pulleys come right apart, and the guts seem to be interchangeable, i'm running a 20B airpump with an FD pulley.... and the wrong belt, the belt i had was for an a/t, its on the tight side

It is an automatic air pump!

Still scratching my head why Mazda would use a different airpump. But that explains why the belt was so loose. Going to look around a bit for the correct airpump, keep the auto one as a spare. |
You probably have an automatic airpump or belt.
