You must've sent it by mistake then. You sent a pm asking the same question you posted and then basically said forget it 'cause the car would basically have to be turned over for oil to get up into the neck.

I want one that keeps my oil catch can from filling up so quick.

You might check the name as I don't think that was me. However, oil creeping up the filler neck is a problem for most track guys. If someone developed one with some baffles in it, I'm sure there would be people lined up to get one.

^^^ Sorry Mahjik, it was Billy, the guy from the machine shop that pm'd me. He quoted your question and your name was in it that's why I thought it was you. He tells me there's no way oil will travel from the oil pan up into this tube. I will talk to him about the baffles though.

You might forward him Crispy's site:

http://reganrotaryracing.tripod.com/catch.htm

"What happens is that under hard prolonged right hand cornering oil shifts to the left side of the oil pan. The pan is partially baffled so the problem only arises under long cornering situations. With all the oil shifted in the pan the propensity for oil to be drawn up the oil filler neck exists. It is then simply a case of vacuum from the two PCV taps on the filler neck that sucks the oil into the intake system. It is not uncommon for most track regulars to run a half quart low to minimize oil pickup but this is a less than optimal resolution to the problem. Oil will still make it's way into the intake system with the propensity to gum up solenoids and other sensors that are sensitive to mediums other than air for which they were not designed. So the solution is to route these PCV vacuum lines to a dedicated catch can and eliminate paths back to the intake system."

Well, since it's been about 7 years since I've driven my car and am not versed in track driving, I would'nt have known that. I see what you're saying and I will forward the site. Will do my best to get him to modify the tube.

O.k, spoke to Billy and he understands about the baffle. He is going to install one but says it will not solve oil getting sucked up but will eliminate most of it. I will be sending the prototype back and have him modify it. Will report back after that.

If its baffled, I think you'll have a worth wild upgrade on your hands.

He said he will definately install a baffle. He is also going to make the neck so that it will accept aftermarket caps along with the original.
