AC Electrical Problem - Help!

Can anybody give me some solid advice on an AC problem? I've owned an 93 R1 for 3 years now. I bought it stock and have done several modifications since then mainly through Pettit Racing.

Since day 1 of owning the car, the AC compressor kicks on and off at will. It works sometimes for a little while, seems to build up pressure and kick off. I can actually feel it chugging on the engine just before shutting down. Often I can turn it off and back on to reengage the compressor. I've had it to 5 different shops, they've replaced everything in the system. I've also done an ECU upgrade from Pettit. Nothing has made the difference. I can give many more details if needed.

When you say "replaced everything" what exactly does that mean?

Are you sure there is sufficient freon in the system? If its low, the compressor won't run.

You can prove whether or not the ECU is sending the proper signal by pulling the AC relay, and checking the side from the ECU. Turn it on, it should be hot, turn the AC off, it should shut off. Keep in mind that the hot side of the other pair of terminals will always be hot.

The ECU seems to be working properly. I've replaced the compressor, receiver-dehydrator, expansion valve, relay & new R134 freon. Evacuated & recharged the freon several times to the proper level. Any other suggestions?
