99 Spec MidSection Tail Light Conversion

I had my Tail Lights Converted.

Here is a photo of the MidSection TailLight(s).

The work was done by SevenLust who is a board member here on the RX7Club.

I am extremely pleased with his great work.

Thank You. Appreciate your comment. SevenLust does an amazing job. If you are considering doing your lights contact him.

I literally spend hours and hours working on my RX-7. At times it is back breaking work when I wash and wax her. But an RX-7 is not just an ordinary car. As you all know.

looks good. 2 questions....

1) how much does he charge?

2) in the close up picture of the middle section, what is that white outline around the lights? looks like tape marks or an etching??

[1]. I had mine done in October of 2008. It cost me $90.00. You can email him here. His Screen Name is Seven Lust. He'll gladly answer any of your questions.

[2]. I had just waxed my car when I took that picture so I think it is wax.

Hope that helps.

In my opinion with the round tail lights it gives that extra special look to the RX-7. Makes the car look a bit European looking. Dont you think so?

I dont think the center section changed in the 99spec Fd’s. I think this is just a cosmetic upgrade. Can anyone verify the center section being like the 99spec FD’s?

if i was still in FL (with my tools) i would do '99 tails for free. but, i'm not. i'm suck up here in this cold *** new york city weather and my car is nice and warm down in florida.

well, if i ever move back there full-time, maybe i'll start doing '99 tails for free. why? it's fun. i like working on these cars.

i've done two sets so far, including my own, and both came out looking great and both are still leak-free.

never done the center-section though - i didn't know it was any different.

Theorie,

I saw the url and your RX-7 looks magnificent.

It's so great to see folks that take pride in owning an RX-7.

Hope you can make it to Florida soon and get the oil flowing. Dont let it sit idle too long.....

Again, great car.

You sir are correct. A few years back while i was in japan (US Army stationed there) i picked up a full set of 99 Spec lights. Heck, i didnt even have an Rx7 at the time, but i knew then, i would own one, and heck i do. The centers have not changed. Sadly from storage all 3 pieces are slightly scratched up and i just have sat down to polish them back up to install them on the car. One day i will. Hopefully soon.

I was always under the impression that the '99+ FD's had lines that segmented the middle portion of the rear tail lights?

The tails do have lines segmenting the sections I believe but the center section is the same from 92-02 as far as I have seen on the 3 that I have.

In my opinion it'd be safer to plug back in the mid-section. The more lights the driver sees behind you the safer for your car.

Just my 2 cents.
