i also went into limp mode......wont let me go past 2500 rpm........can it be becuase of the boiling coolant.......

my dp gets red hot durin startup for about few sec.. normal

racer1 03-17-04 04:34 AM

It's normal for the DP to be hot and for the coolant

The series-6 (92-95) was the only version to get the "pre-cat"

Series-7 (96-98) + series-8 (99-02) had better ECU control thus didn't get them.

except in japan - where there was no pre-cat - ever

thanks guys for the reply.......how do i get out of the limp mode?? just reset the ecu??
there was this post on this forum that high engine temps take the car to limp mode or something?? can someone explain that to me
thanks

You really need to find out why it was in limp mode (do pre-16bit ecu's even have limp mode?), Resetting it is all well and good - but you definitely need to find the reason. Error codes? I can only suggest you take it to a good mechanic - there obviously seems to be an issue with the car - no one here is giving you a diagnosis as it is pretty much impossible from the limited information you have provided.
