'94+ Inner Tie Rods: Where To Get?

For those that don't know, Mazda moved to a coarser thread pitch for the '94+ inner tie rods (where it threads into the rack). I have a '94, and I may need to buy a new tie rod, but everywhere I look lists the same part number for '93-'95 racks.

Has anyone with a '94-'95 had to replace their inner tie rods before? Where did you source them from? Thanks.

Try contacting Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda, he may be able to help.

Check the VIN first. I have a 94 and mine had the older style threads. When I looked up in the PDF parts lists I saw it and kicked myself.

^Dunno about the build date (August '94, I think?), but I figured a caliper and a pitch gauge were good enough. ;)

The later design is M16 x 1.5mm. The earlier design is a finer thread pitch. I still have a later design tie rod from Mazda because I opened the bag before I realized my mistake and couldn't return it.

BTW: just removed my donor 1993 inner tie-rod and measured the following:

rod to rack: M16 x 1.0 (fine thread)
tie-rod end: M12 x 1.25
