90mm Throttle body

Has anyone tried these $100 90MM throttle bodys from ebay? I am looking for a simple TB for my FD UIM.

What is the point? The stock TB is pretty simple too and works very well. A single large blade TB like that would probably suck from a part throttle driveability standpoint.

Well, I found that I can get the stock TB for around the same price. And the Rotary works TB is nice but a bit pricey for my budget at the moment.

don't use a single valve TB with the stock manifold. the stock manifold is designed to be two stage. the primary throttle valve opens and then secondary throttle valves opened. they are mechanically linked together. it's for response during part throttle conditions. people use single valve TB's on custom UIM's with large plenums that are built for top end power.

Guys, please keep ebay links off the site. thanks!

Agreed, just because you can change it doesn't mean you should. A stock tb with oversized butterflies would be the way to go on a stock mani.

have you try the rotary works BT , how much of gain in the dyno????
Looks as a very cheap upgrade!

since the lower intake manifold runner area is 5.7 square inches and the OE TB is 8.5 just what advantage would a larger (90 mm is 9.8) throttle body deliver?

besides destroying driveability a single throttle plate does not line up w the UIM.

the factory spent a fair amount of time on a flow bench and the combo works quite well at 9000 rpm.

unless you replace the UIM and LIM, i suggest you spend your $s elsewhere.
