430 RWHP single turbo FD on stock injectors!!
 

check it out for yourself. i wanna see what people think. the guy goes by the name of Black680hp7. here is what he wrote...

I just got back for XS Engineering tonight from my dyno tune session. With a street port, XSTO4E single turbo kit, M2 Med IC, 1100cc sec inj. and stock primary, rrfpr and running 1bar of boost I made a maximum of 370rwhp. They set it down to 360 for safety. I was running with a high flow cat which probably took away 10 or 20 HP, but there is no way IMHO you are going to get that kind of HP with those mods. If so it was for one time only.
Come to think of it, 430RWHP is typical of guys running a T78 with everything. Maybe this guy is the only one that knows how to tune an RX7.

You should be able to get 430 RWHP running 60 psi base pressure (=75psi gauge pressure when running 15 psi boost) with the stock injectors at 100% duty. Not recommended, but possible.

I don't know about 450 rwhp but 400 rwhp from the stock injectors are possible and I have proof for it. I dyno-tuned my friend's single turbo RX-7 on the dyno with a/f datalogging. He is using the stock size injectors with a 55 psi base fuel pressure. The car is using Power FC for engine management. The car is dynoed at 372 HP with the injectors running at 100%. BUT, the a/f ratio was set to approx 10.0. (That's how he wants it, don't ask me why) If you set the a/f for around 11.5 , the car will gain more HP and the injector duty cycle will be lower and which means you can run even more boost to gain more power. I JUST GOTTA SAY THAT, IF YOU'VE GOT ALL THE PROPER EQUIPMENT TO TUNE YOUR CAR, YOU'LL BE SURPRISED HOW FAR YOU CAN TAKE HP. I WOULD SAY THAT 80% OF THE RACE ENTHUSIASTS DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TUNING AS A MAJOR PART OF THE HP GAIN. YOU CAN BUY ALL YOU WANT AS FAR AS BOLT ONS AND COMPUTERS, BUT IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO TUNE IT RIGHT IT AIN'T WORTH IT.

AND IT'S ALSO IN THE DRIVING... IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE... GET OUT OF THE CAR!!!! ;)

Yep, I hear clowns say you need more injector/fuel all the time. Some clown even accused me of passing bad info....I know of 400 rwhp single turbo cars on stock injectors..I would say not to run over 375/380 rwhp gets kinda dicey...

I don't know if that's the same guy, but does the AEM unit for the FD do all the stuff it does for the Supra? It sounds like the Power FC but it comes with its own software! Jesus its about time. So much for the stranglehold Apexi has had on us!

Yes, I am the same guy. And I personally don't care who wants to believe me, and who doesn't. I have done it, several times! Anyone want to compare notes? There IS definately enough fuel there, the stock turbos with a good intercooler should be able to support 350RWHP with out to much trouble.

I hate that I'm just now seeing this! I'm going to do this because I don't even want 400 hp right now. ... I feel fine with 250 to 300. I'm about to just get a fpr delete my pulsation dampner and confidently start my tuning process. Let me find out that it's guys selling expensive fuel kits or what not that has been misleading us.... TskTsk!

welcome to 12 years later... Back in 2001 many people were still guessing on how to properly mod these cars. Example 3 mod rule...

A lot of data is available now and hence more knowledge, and methods of analyzing how the car is running. The problem with maximizing injectors is that they tend to stick. But whatever.. For 300 RWHP stock injectors are enough.

Sheesh. I went with 1680/850 for a measly 400whp. I have no intention of ever going higher but it's better to be on the safe side IMO.

I have been working 850cc×4 since 2007. I own several pair. A couple pairs of 550 and a set of over bored 850s (1300s) and one pair of 1600s. All for single turbo. I pushed a T62-2 turbonetics and gt35 no issues. I want to experiment with all of them. If any of you are willing to share from experience what would be your advised way working (cycling) thru them. Im really wanting to learn all I can about the amazing machine and the tuning capabilities that it has. Next year I hope to be tuning her at school with the simplest fuel set up that will handel the dyno and all other needs.
