20B style intake manifold???
has anyone seen a 20B style intake manifold on a 13b
if seen these on 12a and some turbo II are these avalable or are they custom fabrications??????????? i |
If you mean that it looks like a 20B manifold with 1/3rd of it missing, they are not custom. The 13B-RE (base engine for Cosmo) used that manifold.
13B-REs are popular swap engines, because they're much cheaper than 13B-REWs and a bit more advantageous to swap. |
has anyone ever madea plate that says "2 rotor Sequentially Turbocharged"(for a 13b) like the 20b's manifold has?
|
That comes stock on the 13B-RE's upper intake manifold :) OK, fine, I'll go hunt for some pics...
Here's a BEAUTIFUL picture that Directfreak took... https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...&postid=564987 There are at least four 13B-RE - into - 1st-gen projects completed or in progress right now... |
would they fit into a third gen. 13b

the 13b-re has the largest secondary ports out of the rotary family i believe. thats the advantage.

As I understand it, the 13B-RE mounts off of the center housing like the FC engine, and it uses a distributor-style CAS like the FC. What the swappers do is put on a 1st-gen front cover and use a 1st-gen style front cover engine mount, just like the GSL-SE or any other 13B engine swap.
All JC Cosmos had twin turbos - base engine was the 13B-RE twin turbo, optional was the 20B-REW. The FD engine is the second twin turbo 13B and an "update" of the 13B-RE. Production of the JC stopped in 1996 or so. HB Cosmos had various engines, depending on year and trim level - including 12A 6-port carbureted, 12A turbo (4-port EFI), 13B 6-port fuel injected N/A (similar to GSL-SE engine). CD Cosmos had 13B 4-port carby engines in the US, not sure what they had overseas. And of course, Cosmo 110S's had 10A engines :) |
