The ones controlled by ECU's are generally damaging to the engine. They will cause side seal damage I believe. From what Crispeed has recommended, you can do a setup with MSD ignition amps and a module. This is apparently a softer cut.

Can you give more info on this? As I have never heard any of that before.

Some stand alones have 2 step feature which is pretty much a hard ignition cut. Although the engine is undamaged.. Your turbo will most likely die pretty quickly do the strong exhaust after burn pulses.

Or you can just use MSD 6AL with two step module.

Buy two relays, (One per Trailing Coil), hook a switch to the relays to turn off the trailing coils, buy a msd 2 step box, hook that up, done deal.

Worked great for me, was able to build close to 20 psi.

I would give Pluto a PM if you want to know about engine damage occurance from it's use. He knows a lot from personal experience on this. I mis-read and thought you wanted to know about the MSD setup. Sorry.

"I prefer to stay out of this thread since both the anti-lag and 2-step aren't healthy to the engine. unless you plan to rebuild your engine once a year, I wouldn't recommend using either of those methods. Both will cause side seals to expand and stick pre-maturely and requires more tear-down than normal to maintain the engine. I have been using anti-lag for years. its awesome launching at 20+psi of boost and getting low 1.4's on ET streets even with a lightweight flywheel but I wouldn't do it on a daily car.

I was able to throw down 1.43 short times without my 2 step...... that was just free revving to 7K and dropping the clutch.
