2 or 3 rotors

Hi, just a quick question... does the 93-95 rx-7 have 2 or 3 rotors and how about any rx-7s after that. Also, does anyone know where I can buy 3 rotor engines? thanks.

93-95 have 2 rotor and any place you can buy a 2 rotor you can more then likly buy a 3.

I think www.pettitracing.com sells them

What are the pros and cons of going three rotors? e.g. Obviously there are more horsies, but how many?

Johnny 01-06-02 07:18 PM

OK damn it...if you have to ask how hard it is to go to a 3rotor

well I'm sorry but you aint got what it takes ! PERIOD !
Hate to be blunt...but that is frecken truth

To get a 3rotor, you'd have to import it from Japan. The obvious pros would be more HP and torque. It's not that hard to get 500HP out of one. Cons would be price to install(20-30K depending on labor and parts), finding an engine management system to run it, and tuning. It takes a lot of work to put one in an FD. It'd be much easier to build up a 13B than install a 20B which is why you don't see many around.

if you have to ask where to get it, it is obvious that you know nothing about the conversion.

be happy with your 13B.

anywhere from 200-1200.

pros: your car is MUCH faster since your wallet is now $35K lighter!

JoeD is on a roll. LOL, stop it your killing me. :p

Most of the three rotor stuff has been covered at one time or another. If you really want more info, start by searching the forum, then the web. There is a lot out there now. Enough info to help you figure out if you really want (and can afford) a 20B or not.

I'd love to have one, but my pocket book says no. Maybe someday, but for now it is just easier to drop cash into the 13B. Not only that, but it is a less expensive platform to learn those costly mistakes on. ;)

Pros: Much faster, more hp and tq
Cons: Expensive, gas guzzling machine, takes a lot of work to put one in (transmission must be pushed back), tuning, etc.

Put a single turbo in a 13B and u will have more power than you know what to do with.
