1300cc injector set up values

I posted this in the PFC section also, but thought some of you with 1300cc injectors may not fequent that section..........................

I picked up a set of new 850cc injectors from the RX7 store & had them forwarded to RC Engineering converting them to 1300's.

My question concerns lag times & proper 1300cc secondary injector set up.

From my reading through old post about 1300cc lag times I came up with anywhere from +.16ms to +.43ms, with the understanding that +.2ms works well.

The 1300cc correction value would be 65%

So on the commander "injector pulse timing correction" screen do I want to see the following????????????????

Fr-Pr 100% +0.00ms
Fr-Sc +0.20ms

Rr-Pr 65% +0.00ms
Rr-Sc +0.20ms

Q-Pr 550cc
Q-Sc 1300cc

Thanks,
"M"

FR-PR 100% 0.00
FR-SC 100% 0.20
Rr-Pr 100% 0.00
Rr-Sc 100% 0.20

Works perfect

Do you have access to a Datalogit? You're probably also going to want to change injector overlap and pri/sec transition %.

Really?? Page 26 of the manual shows how to correct for larger injectors.

Use the original injector value & divide it by your new injector value.

850 divided by 1300 = 0.653 or 65.3%

The shop IM taking the car for a dyno tune has FC datalogit for RX-7's.

The reason for the post was because I installed the injectors at home & wanted to get the Initial set up inputted prior to driving the car (slowly) down there.

But now I have a new twist. I just scored some 99 spec 280hp turbos off eBay. So IM gonna hold off on tuning until after I get them installed.

I've been driving around with the 100% setting for a couple weeks now and it works perfectly fine.

I was given those settings by 2 different tuners, so I'd assume it is ok to leave the values at 100%

any more supporting comments ont he injector setup values? I'd also like to know :-)

what's the setup on 1600cc/1680cc secondaries? (550cc prim)

maxcooper 07-20-06 04:07 AM

Note that Rr-Pr means "rear primary". I don't think you need to put in any percentages when you change the size of the secondaries. Just the size.

so when upgrading injectors all you need to do is setup the lag time and the injector size?
don't the maps need to be adjusted too? like timing and fuel?

I realize what it stood for. I just thought that it was a generic screen adapted from the 4 cylinder screen.

Why would you have different values for the front & rear Primary injectors only?

Plus, you do an injector correction for the Primary injectors only?

I don't doubt you reply I just want to understand the logic from Apexi better.

Bottom line.................

Looks like all I need to do is change the Fr/Rr-Sc inj lag values to +0.20 & update the Sc inj from 850cc to 1300cc

That's what I heard as well. Also, if you check page 26 of the commander service manual, when they show the example, you'll see they don't change or even set a percentage value for the bigger injectors.
