what size do those rims come in??? they reminf me of the bmw mesh wheels.

mazdaspeed00 10-06-02 01:57 PM

17x8.5 all around there BBS RX or RK rims

93blackrx 10-06-02 02:57 PM

those are really nice looking. where did you get them? are they from the dealer?

Decay 10-06-02 03:09 PM

I wonder how they will look on a U.S.-Spec 7. I hope they look good cause BBS RX's arent that pricey, but I always thought they looked a little "Euro" for a Jap supercar.

Nice, nevertheless!

Kiflin 10-06-02 03:34 PM

bleh, i dont like the mazda cap.

Wargasm 10-06-02 04:17 PM

Where did you get them? How much? How much do they weigh?

Some guy here has a silver 3rd gen with all the spirit R badges and accessories on the exterior...very awesome...those rims look pretty sweet in person too...they look great on silver but I am not sure how they would look on red. I think on silver and maybe black they are good....I actually like the cap

Kiflin 10-06-02 04:33 PM

I dont know, i just don't like them....

Quiksilver540 10-06-02 05:12 PM

Anyone know the weight of them? I'm thinking relatively low.

Vick 10-06-02 06:37 PM

HOW MUCH?!?!

:D

TpCpLaYa 10-06-02 07:10 PM

well they not mine.....but in japan these exact ones were going for like a lil over a grand!! but now if we wanted them here from a jap dealer we'd b looking at like 4g+!! all the new spirit r shit is crazy expensive

Nathan Kwok 10-06-02 07:42 PM

Can anyone confirm that the Spirit R rims are really BBS RX's? They look exactly the same, but the BBS rims are only available in 17x8" and the Spirit R rims are 17X8"F and 17x8.5"R. The RX's also aren't that light, 22lbs, maybe the Mazda versions are lighter? From Mazda they are ridiculously expensive, almost $4000 a set, but BBS RX's can be had for $1200 a set.

Jim Swantko 10-06-02 07:54 PM

I can think of about 20 aftermarket wheels I'd rather have.... $4k for those... you've GOT to be kidding me.

Give me a set of HRE's, Volks, SSRs, Work's, Blitz's, etc...

And I'll get something larger/wider than 17x8.5s.... and I'd have money left over for tires.

RotaryKnight 10-06-02 09:25 PM

Of course they are expensive...they are OEM Mazda Japan rims. But for the money you could get Volks.

It just like when you buy a car and the CD deck option is like $600 bucks.....uh for $600 you could get a WAY better Alpine, Clarion.....etc.

Donovan 10-06-02 11:37 PM

If you go to Mazda's Spirit R web page it says "Special BBS Made wheels" Most BBS wheels have that mesh style. They are most likely a special offset/finish made by BBS for the car. The reason they cost soo much is that everything costs a billion from the manufacrturer I.E. Mazda, in this case.

They are expencive...

They are not 8.5J all around.

They are 8J front & 8.5J rear.

Tad 10-08-02 06:08 AM

heres a pic of them on the car , pretty nice

I dont think they have the extreme offset that aftermarket rims have so not quite as wide a stance., although I bet they're lighter.

Vick 10-08-02 09:34 PM

So nobody knows how much they weigh? :)

Thanks for the great info! :icon_tup:

I didn't realise how sought after the Spirit R wheels are. I actually have these genuine rims on my Spirit R (completely unmarked, as new), but I don't really like them! I suppose "the grass is always greener on the other side" :)

Does anyone know what's the lowest offset rim I could fit under my stock guards? At most, I would only want to roll the guards.

HARD2B 07-31-15 08:03 AM

the spirit r rims are pretty light, they weight around 7kg~ each
