Not too shabby but they need to connect the center brake light with the outer lights to complete the design. Otherwise is not as appealing to the eye.

^ Those still are not the clear, diffused look shown in the first pic. Look closely - they are individual LEDs and in person will look nothing like the back end of the white car.

The yellow signals are individual LEDs but the other portions appear to be acrylic strips that should be diffused.

I see what you are saying. Would like to know the type of less behind the diffusers. From the other less, those won't be very bright.

I have no affiliation with these lights, btw- I just saw them on Instagram randomly. They just posted a video of them lighting up- Would have been much better if the two sections of diffused lens area would light up separately instead of just an open area behind the main lens, and yes- not individual LED's.

I can't tell- this might be a different set without individual LED on the front surface(?) There's some sort of controller being used to switch between different waterfall blinker styles:

That is pretty wild stuff. I think it's a different set than the originals. I checked out his instagram page and he does some some very over the top designs.

The ultimate rear lights would be an LED backlit LCD screen on each side running off a rasberry pi and some simple software. You could have any design you want.

It's a weird light guide. The LEDs are all housed where the third brake light would normally be. Power would have to be really high and the LEDs would run really hot. Don't know what it looks like in the trunk but I bet there's a huge heatsink and fan running there and that the washer tank no longer exists. Light will drop off towards the end of the guide, so I wonder how bright this would really be. Also, no provision for turn signals.

It looks damn cool but wouldn't be streetable.

edit: Also, could just be photoshop.

You got me- Just a photochop I created. These tails are based on the Mercedes EQA concept car taillights. ..Ideas lead to possible new products, and to more creative new ideas.. I hear something like this might be in the works soon by GT.Panpe / P.Luxe or possibly AZRX7 LLC.

Oh, hahaha--yeah that's actually a very good job getting the highlights right on that plastic, man. You did a lot of work on that photo--I see you even photoshopped out the gas filler.

BTW, I hate Rocket Bunny kits. Why are these a thing on any car?

No one is claiming anything is better than OEM, or trying to deceive- it's just a new idea I wanted to test out. I understand the "purists angle", but both oem options look pretty dated by todays lighting standards (*wow, painted on circles!), when you really give them a hard and honest look..

Yeah I personally thing the 99 tails look very dishonest to the design. Blacked-out circles in the original housing? Weak.

A design that incorporates LED light guides in some fashion would be welcome, but expensive to produce.

I enjoy keeping the rotary alive so went this route awhile ago. Not sure if they are still available. Don't mind the second picture light brightness as I had to use some different voltage bulbs until the next day. That is what happens when you use 7v vs 12v.. ~__~

I like OEM 99 spec lights but a LED version would be an awesome upgrade IMO of course. I"ve seen the CSG tail lights in person and they look good too.
