How many 1993 RX7 still around?
How many 1993 RX7 still around?
Planning to sell my 1993 RX7 with Automatic transmission and need input ,corrections or numbers. This is my best estimate :Original FD3 from 1993-1995 13,700 cars of those 500 made with an automatic (that is 3.64%) After 31 years I have no recent numbers of FD3's still on the road. Using a guesstimate of 3,500 still on the road or a 25.5% survival, if applied to the original 500 automatics that is 127 remaining. Does anyone have an estimate on the percentage of cars that have been "hacked" or modified? Mine is original with 24,500 miles. The automatic has in the past been considered less desirable, but now, I am thinking, that there are many fans of Fast and Furious who have never learned to drive a stick.
Any and all input is welcomed!!!!!! I, any place to find recent numbers or registered cars? Including guesses for sale price, % of sports cars on road after 31 years, etc.
Thanks,
NatchezBob

Well, this doesn't represent the whole community, obviously, but there's a registry that some enthusiasts have put up.

I would say ~25% remaining on the road might be somewhere in the ballpark.
Original and low miles probably puts you in the rarity category. Arguably, the automatic hurts the value unfortunately, even if there were fewer of them made or left. "just because it's rare, doesn't mean it's valuable"
I would check BringaTrailer for pricing. Since your car is low miles you can shop and compare what things have sold for based on mileage, condition, etc.

25% is not a bad guess. People have posted registration data in this thread, it has been updated a few times but I don't think I've seen anything recently.
