How do you figure that? The exhaust side is physically separated from the compressor, so there is no possible way for an apex seal to get in there. I would be VERY surprised to see a cold side fin get chewed up as the result of apex seals letting go. Now if the previous owner neglected to run an air filter... that's different.

^^Probably thinking of a compressor wheel letting go, usually the nut coming off, rather than anything coming out of the engine shearing the turbine off.

In those cases, have found bits a couple of feet away from the disintegration site. Usually can be cleaned out of ICs and air filters without a huge effort.

Ric Shaw here sells a dual pass SMIC, AVO used to do a SP replica bar and plate one too, maybe still?
