Recomendations on lowering...
Im looking to take the rexy down a bit. 1 inch or 1 1/2. Whats the best thing to get for her? What brand...so on and so forth. I just saw a red r1 lowered down 1 1/2 inches. All i can say is WOW. It seemingly changed the whole car to me for some reason. I kept asking him whats diff, finally he said that he lowered it 1 1/2 inches. Wow what a differance. Didnt get a chance to ask him how he did it or what he used, but I want. Recomendations guys? I dont wanna lose proformance, but I figure done correctly it would increase slightly right?

I did the Eibach Pro-Kit. Lower it about 1 to 1.5 inches. Handles great. The ride is a little rougher, but it's a sports car.

pros/cons of progressive vs. linear

I am not a big fan of progessive springs, I just don't like the feel, I am not sure about the performance differences, but I haev progesives on my VW, which I liek for it becasue it is my daily driver, but for the FD I like having the instant stability of linear springs.

I'm getting ready to have Eibach Pros and Tokicos(shocks) installed next week, so I will let you know.
YOu can get the Eibachs for ~$250 from Mazda Competition, if you are in their racing program, the Tokicos for $103 each. The Eibach Pros are linear should increase performance. |
I'm running H&Rs on my FD Right now and I'm happy with them. It dropped it 1.25". low enough for an aggressive stance, but still enough room to fit 18x9 wheels without rolling the fenders.

When they pulled my FD out and I got my first look at it with the wheels on, I was so happy I was practically skipping to my car. THanks for setting up that phat deal. BTW with this setup I have zero wheel gap in front and just a tiny bit in back. |

The thing about runng 225s on the 18x9s is that the tires look to narrow for the wheel. So the front looks a little funky becasue the wheels stick out a little further then the tire, but I'm willing to put up with that if I don't have to roll my fenders.

I did Eibachs and Tokico Illuminas on my last RX and to tell you the truth, it actually felt considerably more compliant the stock springs/struts/shocks. My new RX has 80k miles and the ride is kinda bouncy. I'm thinking about going coil overs this time. |
