Question How much HP can a FD produce on stock twins and non ported engine?

Right now I have a stock FD with stock twin turbos.
I was just wondering around how much RWHP I could get from the car with all the basic bolt on's and a stand alone computer.
here would be my mods.

-y pipe
-downpipe
-midpipe
-catback
-cold air intake
-new pullys
-Apexi power FC
-stock engine and turbos nothing special

if all these things were properly tuned and running perfectly what do you think my 1/4 mile times would be?

With fuel upgrades in addition to those listed and all the planets in line you can make between 380 - 400 RWHP with about 17psi of boost. I wouldnt run 17 all the time though because its hard on the turbos but for a 1/4 mile race it should be ok.

You might have a hard time hitting the 400 with stock twins and no porting of the engine. I know of a few stock turbo 7's running real close to 400 but I think they have ported engines, however 380 isnt that hard to hit with the right tuning.

With that power, a good driver, and some drag radials or slicks you can run low-mid 11's

With dp, mp, cb, intake, PFC, and front mount ic you should be in the 340-350 rwhp range at 13-14 psi and run 12 flat. A ported engine will you gain more hp from you intake and exhaust and you get about 25 rwhp from that and you'll be in the 11's easy.

does a regular street port ruin the reliability of the engine?

now if you have ALL of that stuff, all the bolt ons with a steet port and everything, youll be running 370-390 ish RWHP. now what if you add some upgraded twins from Pettit?? will that put you in the 420-430 RWHP range??? also, mid-low 11's???

can someone please correct me if i am wrong.

thanks.

also, can you run all those mods (all bolt ons, + street port and upgraded twins) with a Pettit Unlimited ECU with some fuel system mods (fuel pump, RRFPR, injectors), or will you be risking it because of the fact that you can't tune the Pettit ECU??

thanks.

I made 373RWHP with stock motor, and turbos. My mods were as follows: Power FC, 1200 Secondary injectors, RP Pump, XS Engineering Front Mount Intercooler, Pettit Intake, Pettit DP, Pettit MP, Apex GT Spec Exhaust, The Power FC was tuned by Ramage Racing. The car has about 20-30HP more in it if the motor was ported, just my 2 cents.

I agree with everyone else, you should be at about 360-380hp. I am currently in the process of trying to put together a good combination for my FD, and am having a harf time with finding the right turbo set-up.

To keep expenses down for the ultimate FD - have your motor street-ported will all new silicone seals and 2mm racing Hurley apex seals. Have your turbos upgraded (lots of places do this) but Pettit would be a good choice. While the turbos are out have someone set them up in non-sequential mode. It cleans up the engine bay and gets rid of all the solenoids and vacuum lines (better reliablilty since these fail at some time or another) Then get a dp, hi-flo or mp, cb exhaust, ACT clutch, lightweight flywheel, Power FC, pullies or just main pulley, good intake, and a decent intercooler (M2, CW, or front mount) and you'll be over 400 rwhp at 15 psi and be in the high 10's on slicks and low 11's on streets. There's some money involved but well worth it. A pettit ECU can handle many mods and is a good choice if you're on a budget put a Power FC is a much better choice for a few $100 more. I'm running 13 psi now for reliability and won't go over that since I want my FD's new engine to reach 100K miles. I'm still pulling down 350-360 rwhp which is plenty for me

This guy "ErnieT" who I met at the MD BBQ was pushing around 400hp, really impressive. I am pretty sure he had stock turbos and stock engine, went with the non-sequential setup. I should have some pictures back from that day if wallmart would stop jerking me around and just give me my photos.

my two cents

just getting the feeling that some of the above numbers for HP and 1/4 mile times are somewhat generous.

I have a long mod list and Im not in the 11s...an intercooler to my list wont put me there either...

I have met about 8-10 guys with modded fd's and have had the fastest one...on my best day I might hit a 12.3...and that is on my BEST day...and that is with the streetport on my motor.

I dont think there is a street rx on stock twins and a ported motor who can run faster than that...sorry.

if there is...Id love to meet you...I want to get my car setup like yours!!

Id like to see a 11 or 12.0 second fd on that mod list...

I don't believe that Ernie has a stock setup. I think he has a ported motor and the twins shaved by KDR along with a PFC. Both his car and Silver7 pull between 11.66 and 12.0 sec ET's (what HP does that translate to?).

How about an 11.26@119.6? Go to www.rx7s.com and click on Customers Cars, you'll see Anthony's car at the top. And then if you still don't believe it go to the Misc Videos link and you can watch the video of his 11.72 run. I know him and I know his car and it is totally streetable. There are plenty others out there like his too. Mine should be there one of these days...

just a quick add on...

I meant to say that I dont thing a non ported motor and stock twins with all the bolt ons can run in the 11s.

Ill check the vids...maybe Im wrong...but in my experience that just isnt the case.

Id like to see the dyno numbers and official timeslips at the same time if someone is doing this...whoever has this setup will be of great help to me in tuning my car...a help to all of us...if they can in fact pull 350-380 rwhp and 11.7s-12.0s with only bolt ons and the pfc...(no port..stock turbos)

show me the money.

First of all, let me say MUCH respect to Anthony, I wish my car was that fast, but the only thing stock about his engine is the turbos, from what I saw of his mods list in past posts.

Nevertheless, killer car

True, true, but Artguy stated that he had a streetport which is why I posted Anthony's times. Anthony's streetport is fairly agressive from what I understand.
