Smile FD question???

Yes I'm a newbie and yes I've used the search. Anyway I'm interested in getting a FD in the near future. Right now I'm trying to learn as much as possible about them to see if I could maintain one. I know a little about cars in general. So how hard is it to learn to do the basic maintance on a FD? Also where can I get info on the FD's(books, manuals, etc.) All and any help would be helpful. Also anybody in GA? I'm near Savannah in Stateboro.

Thanks and talk to you guys and gals soon.

goto www.robrobinette.com for general information. you're lucky because the rx-7 has one of the most active internet support networks of any car.

as for the manual you can buy a paper version from ebay or some rx-7 shops such as racing beat. you can also download the entire thing from the internet for free or buy a cd containing it.

do a search or search the archives on the forum for newbie stuff such as maintenance and costs. this question comes up quite often.

Think of the FD as a hobby (and not basic transportation) that you are willing to learn about, spend lots of $$ on, and you'll be one happy camper as EVERYONE points at you and says "NICE CAR!"
If you are not mechanically inclined - fugedhabouudit. You'll spend every penny you've ever earned trying to keep it running right, and have many sleepless nights wondering why you bought it in the first place. This is the truth and the way, Grasshopper:p

Wow. I don't know about Gun, but that helped me a ton. I'm in the process of finding a nice FD, and was just wondering what to look for. Thanks!
