yey, shot flames!

bonez straight pipe with stock ypipe and mufflers, acv blockoff...
i punch it in 2nd gear and when the rev buzzer goes on, i let off till around 6000rpm and i tap the gas... then it shoots two small whitish blue flame....

ok, now the thing is... getting bigger flames.... :bigthumb:

gingenhagen 03-25-05 11:34 PM

i think the mods should make a new rule - no more posts about shooting flames

staticguitar313 03-25-05 11:36 PM

agreed unless they are big flames and you have pics and/or video, liek Garret's 91 N/A that had the N1's glowing cherry red . . . the hotness, literally

slpin 03-25-05 11:37 PM

want to know what i think
i think mods should make a new rule... people doesnt know how to change shocks/springs (like 6 bolts each side) should not be allowed to act cocky....

*sighs*

and guys... these are STOCK mufflers and y pipe  with the thermal reactor

RotaryEvolution 03-25-05 11:40 PM

he does have a point, it is spammy creating new threads. it is something most modded RX7s do and if everyone posted about it the board would be full of those posts, they already are... the board is here mainly for support, there is other boards on the forum for these types of posts.

anyways

grats on the flames. :)

gingenhagen 03-26-05 02:20 AM

only 6 bolts? sounds pretty easy then. Can you do a quick runthrough of the process, or can I just figure it out by looking at it?

Impreza2RX7 03-26-05 02:22 AM

Changing struts is pretty self explanatory..

gingenhagen 03-26-05 02:36 AM

It is just as i suspected then. Either way, if the shop can get the struts and install them for close to the price it would cost me to get struts and some spring compressor thing, then why should I do it myself and risk taking my inexperienced head off?

7romanstatesmen 03-26-05 06:14 AM

you can rent a spring compressor from any rental place for about 10 bucks. they seem to be pretty foolproof.

i don't know what a shop charges to put them on, but i bet it's more than 10 bucks.

Just dont be like me and change them without removing the top plate from the car. I could have done it in 3 hours less and without bloodying my knuckles

Impreza2RX7 03-26-05 10:26 AM

I'd buy new springs while you're at it also..

billzrx7 03-26-05 10:31 AM

you complain about the flames yet y ou hi-jack his thread? look if he was excited about it let him post, its not like you are out anything, y ou could simply just NOT read his post.

congrats and welcome to the club, work a lil harder and u can throw some 8 footers like i do :)

RexRyder 03-26-05 10:32 AM

you lucky fucks, my microtech wont let me shoot flames

RotaryEvolution 03-26-05 10:38 AM

changing springs/struts is not all that self explanatory, the top strut mount adjusts camber/caster so if it isn't marked during removal and not installed in the same position it will affect camber and caster.

billzrx7 03-26-05 10:48 AM

karack, start a new thread if u want to discuss spring/strut R&R, dont high jack the flame thread pls

gingenhagen 03-26-05 03:51 PM

actually, i would say that it was the guy who started the thread who hijacked it himself. Therefore, is it really considered hijacking?

billzrx7 03-26-05 04:52 PM

he didnt hi-jack it, he simply st arted his own thread stating what his mods were when he shot flames. no biggie IMO
