RX-7>300ZX, Ohh you should have seen that coming :D

300ZX's are fat pigs, and I don't like V6's.

I have been in a 300ZX...

Funny to say the least they are slow unless the 300 has a turbo on it they are not fast and they are fat pigs.

A friend of mine has a '91 300zx with the Auto tranny. It is pretty slow... I guess if you hold your foot into it, its not bad, but it is no quick V6 thats for sure (maybe the 5spd is much faster?). I ended up getting a '88 GLX and I think its a more practical car, better? I don't know, but it is faster.

I think you need to buy a skyline and then give it to me :D . I would give you a yanky dime.

They are obviously both sports cars. The RX-7 is more aimed at the performance side of things. If you want a car that is capable in all performance areas then RX-7s are for you. The feel of a car with good design cannot be replicated. Driving a FC is fun even in boring situations.

go with the rx-7. its original. the 300z if I am not mistaken is a sporty car with a maxima motor in it. The 7 is a true blooded sports car with a rotary engine. unlike the piston breed, the rotary is so smooth and it is powerful too. The only drawbacks are its fuel consumption, which is very poor if compared with a same size piston engine, and oil consumption, they eat oil.

thats all bullshit. 300z's are faster in NA form than RX7s are, but if you dont have the money to mod a 300z go for an RX. My friend has a stock 93 5spd 300z and its pretty quick for the cow that it is. Its definitely faster than a stock 2nd gen. I still prefer my RX because i can get it going faster for cheaper than he can. But id still love to have a 300z. If the people replying owned a 300z instead of an RX they'd say the 300 was better.

which is very poor if compared with a same size piston engine,

Ohh, lets see 1.3 liter, about 90 cubic inches= 10 horsee power gocart motor :D And you can run one of those all day on a gallon of gas.

The final gen 300ZX is a lot more expensive than a FC. It's certainly faster in a straight line n/a to n/a, turbo to turbo. A '93 300ZX is more price comparable to a FD. I would think the second last gen 300ZX is what one would normally consider if also considering a FC. In that race it's no contest. Even comparing to this class of vehicle, the FC has many positive aspects.

To compare gas consumption look at engines of similar power and vintage; Supra, 300ZX, 5.0L. A FC uses more gas. On the flip side I don't think one could drive one of those engines as hard as many of us do on a daily basis.

snrub thanks for the tech info i accually learned alot from that much appreaciated

After working on a 300 youll hate life :p: Their bays are so crowded. You have to friggin pull the motor to get the turbos off. On my fc it takes like 30 minutes of fucking around and working slowly.

Rxmfn7 05-24-03 05:51 PM

A friend of mine owns a very nice 86 N/A 300ZX. This just happens to be the same person that I had bought my FC from years ago. Even he admits that my Rx-7 was way more fun to drive, and seemed slightly faster than his 300. Im not stock now, so I rape it, but he says from what he remembered he thinks the 7 was a bit quicker. In the fun to drive factor its no contest, the 300 is a bit on the heavy side and just feels sloppy in the twisties...
