where can i get Intercooler piping for an FMIC

i am going to go with a FMIC and i was wondering what would be the best size IC to go with and if there is anyplace where i can buy IC piping instead of bending it myself?

rx7 FC TII 10-11-06 09:33 PM

ebay...intercooler and piping is the cheapest way to go i have an ebay intercooler and it works very well the piping usually isnt simple bolt on but you can bend and cut it to make it fit

vipers 10-11-06 09:47 PM

well, whats your power goal? anything under 350rwhp 2 1/2" is more that enough.... but after that, start thinking about 3" piping.....

yeah, ebay is gonna be your cheapest bet.... i got a 12x24x3 intercooler and 3" piping for $470..

im not gonna be anywhere near 350 unless i spray. i found an IC on ebay but i cant find the right piping and i looked all over the place. there is one place but i dont want to spend 1k. im just gonna be running 10 psi out of the stock turbo.

how would i make this kit work cause i know some of these pipes dont have the right bends

all you need are simple hand tools

rx7b13 10-11-06 10:06 PM

how did you bend that your self? did you take it to a shop and have it done?

Boostmaniac 10-11-06 11:51 PM

Vipers, that is a super clean install. Have you finished your swap yet?

no, if you go to the link i posted, the pipes are already bent... all i did was cut them to the lengths i needed.... its actually very simple to do

vipers are you running the stock turbo? it doesnt look like it. but i see how you did it.

rx7 FC TII 10-12-06 09:16 AM

will this kit work for a bolt up with some cutting??

piping kit

SpooledupRacing 10-12-06 09:24 AM

buy some univeral bends and make it yourself or take it to a muffler shop and have them bend all the pipes for you with a mandrel or smooth bender

ColdSeven 10-12-06 10:43 AM

'Vipers' i wish i woulda got that kit 8 90 degree bends would've been better than the kit that 'rx7_TII' is talking about to hard to install, 'vipers' is smoother and looks easier to do

vipers 10-12-06 01:24 PM

yeah, i wouldnt go w/ that kit... looks like you have to really think about which pipes to use and where to use them.... mine was simple... i had no choice but to use 90 degrees... but to me, the final look is exactly what i wanted....
