whats the differenve between the JDM s5 tail lights and the USDM s5 tail lights? i seen pics of both and they pretty much look the same...the only different i found is the the "J" before the "DM" and the price.

vipers 09-18-04 10:27 PM

you pinned the tail on the donkey!!! that is about it.... the taillights are identical!!

604Ryder 09-18-04 10:31 PM

the actual diameter of the jdm lights is slighty smaller then usdm ... its very slight though. u cant really tell unless u saw both lights in person and had them besdie each other.

vipers 09-18-04 10:36 PM

thats a new one to me..... i have both, jdm and usdm...... they looked identical.... so....sorry about me being wrong!! it happens from time to time... lol... but i am gonna look into that one!! cause the jdm ones fit perfect on my usdm 7!!

BS.

There is no difference. Anyone who tries to sell "JDM" taillights for a more than US ones is either an ignorant fool or a thieving liar. Don't be conned into paying extra. Even if they did actually come off a Japanese FC, there's absolutely nothing about them that justifies a higher price.

Icemark 09-18-04 10:57 PM

now the JDM S4 lights have a cool Turbo Rotary badge/sticker on them.

but like everyone says, the JDM S5 lights are exactly the same as the North American spec. Just the same generic round T-bird based lights

andrew lohaus 09-18-04 11:40 PM

^^^^^hmm well you can look vaugely like a t-bird or a bad knock off of a 944. take your pick......

ill stick with s5:)

sub9lulu 09-19-04 09:17 AM

on mine S5 taillights the reverse light on one side is red another is white

Hey hIGGI, where is the switch for the fog light??? is it the same switch that turns on the front fog lights, or a different one???

gerbraldy 09-19-04 03:56 PM

Dam crazy europeans j/k. That flat black is awesome, I've always wanted to see one in flat black and with one reverse light :D.

rx7jones 09-19-04 07:37 PM

i agree, i wanted to see one in flat black, that is really clean. i started primering my car because of rust and peeling paint. i might do flat black but i haven't decided because my car is white and changing the color is a pain with the engine bay etc. nice car man

i only posted that because thats what i was told by a fellow rx7 owner. i never really had the chance to see for myself so i wont argue. i think anyone that would waste 200-300 hundred on a pair of taillights (unless they are needed as a replacement) is dumb, after all they are just taillights

Mark, both euro S4 & S5's do have only rear foglights (atleast i haven`t seen car with fronts) and switch in both series is on center panel between seats (where u have power mirrors controls)

Kenteth 09-20-04 07:40 AM

Higgi, is that car painted flat black, or black primer? It actaully looks pretty awesome like that IMO. Noted the shaved badges too.

dorifc3s 09-20-04 07:56 AM

car is painted flat black

Kenteth 09-20-04 02:54 PM

I like that... definately unique

Rob XX 7 09-20-04 04:47 PM

the license plate bracket is also larger, there is no space after the reverse lights like a us one, our license plates arent that big. so the lights themselves arent as wide.

dorifc3s 09-20-04 06:16 PM

So ALL JDM S4s had that badge, i mean sticker?

Other than the one red lense for the fog light, the European lights are exactly the same as the convertible ones. The shorter lights allows the huge European plate to fit. ;)

Rob XX 7 09-21-04 07:30 PM

convertible lights have a keyhole on the passenger side lens housing though.
I wonder if those euro light cars have a different light switch?
I know the Mercedes and some other cars have a position on the switch for turning on that one red light only.
