What Should I Do???

Ok here's the deal, I most likely have a blown apex seal, and I need a new or rebuilt tranny. what would u do if u were in my shoes???

.... go and get a J spec.. and just make a project of the deal. Just my opinion, either that or find a decent TII. Its all in fun man. You could probably sell your car as is and find a turboII in decent shape for cheaper than the cost of a J spec now that im thinking about it. Y not rebuild it yourself? Hell, i dont know man.. just spitting... Take care

First off, ignore everyone that say "get a J-spec!" That's not an option unless you've got a turbo

I voted for the TII-converted 1st-gen. Decent handling, good looks, and SICK FAST.

Hmmm.... ok... so.. its easier to put a second gen turbo motor in a ... first gen, than it is to put a second gen turbo motor in... a ... second gen... intelligent in my book thats for sure! ;) do what you want, i just said J spec in case you like the car you already have alot right now.

I LOVE THE REX I HAVE NOW THATS Y ITS MY AVATAR!! BUT,I have always had a thing for the gen.1's body styling and the kits available do a hell of a lot for them! I do think its just as ez (do to the size of engine bay) to get a tII in a gen.1 as any other tII swap would be. But at the same time i may just rebuild what I have. But I want the feedback to figure out what'll be easier/cheaper!! I'm on a tight budget and I wanna get the most for my $$,so if I'm gonna do this again, and I'm gonna do it right this time!!

A TII swap in an FB is a pain. You need to swap front engine covers, find a GSL-SE oil pan, make a trans mount, have a driveshaft made, fab a high pressure fuel system, make a wiring harness, do a FMIC....

Its still worth it though :)

i got an idea. do the rebuild yourself. :)
