went to the track, disappointed

Well I went to the track tonight. I drove like shit every damn run. Best run I have a slip for is a 13.8@102. One run I spun the launch and missed 3rd and still got a 102.5 so I know my car alot more potential. Oh well, better luck next time.

3isacharm 05-23-03 12:19 AM

you got a timeslip we could analyze? that's a pretty high mph for a 13.8

MPH 102.55

Boo hoo try pulling a 18.1 in your 88 SE or a 17.1 in your 88 GTU then you can be disappointed.

I'd say try the 60ft. That will decrease your time incredibly.

My first run in my 88 SE was like 2.8 and I got it to run a 17.4 with a 2.402 60ft.

J-Rat 05-23-03 12:48 AM

I was gonna say..Thats not the worst timeslip I have ever seen. Fairly respectible for a TII.

Well I just know that with a 102-103 trap I can get a low low 13. I was really just not driving like I usually do for some reason. It was about to rain so they were rushing people through too. Oh well, no excuses. Just gives me more reason to be more prepared and drive better next time.

J-Rat 05-23-03 01:01 AM

Maybe if you worked on your 60 ft a little, but thats better then my 60 ft times.

Mine were in the 2.4-2.6 range.

Ryde _Or_Die 05-23-03 01:06 AM

Well I got a 2.0 once, so thats over 1/10 of a second better than my best run. Shouldn't that take at least 2 tenths off my ET?

J-Rat 05-23-03 01:41 AM

Well, usually the 60 ft is a big indicator of the launch, and the place where you can make up the most time.

You would think that if you made a tenth on the launch, that you would see it on the other end, but thats not always the case. Too many variables. Especially in a 5 speed car.

A 2.1 60 foot time is not that bad, though. There's room for improvement, yeah, but it's not bad.

with those mods it should be in the 12s. your launch could inprove some. exp if you where on your drag radials. 102 is a high 13 for a rx7. i know someone that got a 13.6 on a 102 in a t2

think of the bright side .. you didn't break anything ;)

you'll get better numbers as your track time increases.

Think that's bad?

R/T .709
60 ft 2.091
594 ft 8.518
1/8 ET 9.056
1/8 MPH 83.62
1/4 ET 13.755
1/4 MPH 104.87

Think I could be doing a little faster than 13.755 when I'm trapping near 105 mph? I do.. just can't seem to know how to launch the sucker to not bog or get huge wheelspin.

Have you had the car tuned with a wideband yet?

what psi are you running on the new turbo.

You're set up has the potential to go 12's, just need to work on the driving and getting it all tuned. It's all good though, you'll get faster :)

Wow, that's about the same time as a Bolt-On RX-8...
