well mother f*(k :: emissions

f**king went to get smogged a while ago, after hundreds of dollars in parts and countless hours of f**king work.. and mother f**king god damn son of a bitch failed AGAIN
HC: 905 - 220
CO: 6.33 - 1.20
(with new exhaust new cat, full lean idle, f**king god damn even had the air pump hooked to the cat via the split air pipe, can of that GTP 'pass or we pay' bull sh*t)

what the god damn f**k is this bull sh*t... now what do i have to do to get this mother f**king to god damn pass this stupid bullsh*t fucking god damn what the blue f**k is the problem... leaky injectors? god damn mother f**king hell this sh*t is so f**king stupid

now: violently ripping out all emissions bullsh*t

sorry... very unstable at the moment..

after hundreds of dollars in parts and countless hours of f**king work..
make that THOUSANDS of dollars in parts, and hundreds of hours of work

From the time you last posted to now. Did you run the car alot??? I mean was it good and hot b4 you went to the smog?? that's is one common thing that I read when people talk about getting smog. Just asking

neu 02-22-05 01:48 PM

yeah, it's about a 30 minute drive to the testing station :(

Icemark 02-22-05 01:50 PM

have the basics been done first??? new spark plugs/and cables, new air filter, new O2 sensor, new fuel filter, clean unleaded regular gas...

Those things should all be done first. Then check things like EGR (if it is a S4).

neu 02-22-05 01:52 PM

yeah i did all of the basic things, new plugs/wires, cleaned my air filter (k&n) replaced o2 sensor when i replaced the exhaust, fuel filter is fairly new, very fresh gas from last night, did most of the stuff on jrats emissions cheat system, all but the alcohol, and still failed horribly

neu 02-22-05 01:54 PM

i didnt check the EGR tho, but wouldnt think it would make that big of a difference... my only guess is that the injectors are leaking... it consumes fuel like crazy, runs rich as hell, and HC's are caused by unburned fuel arent they?

zeromage428 02-22-05 02:02 PM

why didnt u do the alcohol trick?? my brother did with his mr2 n they were amazed at how he got such a low count

neu 02-22-05 02:05 PM

mainly because im flat broke... wouldnt have the money to buy the alcohol, or the gas after i tested... im just screwed i guess.. my daily driver's oil pump went out when i bought a parts car to fix my 7 with.. so now im stuck without a car at all.. no car + no money + no job = screwed.

jhammons01 02-22-05 02:07 PM

What have you got on your parts car to sell???

neu 02-22-05 02:34 PM

i was gonna trade the rest of the car for a paint job.. but doesnt look like that is going to happen after i failed so bad.. i might as well build the parts car back up and drive it (87 TII parts car)

What alcohol and where do you buy it?

cpt_gloval 02-22-05 02:45 PM

can you cheat? just route the air pump's outlet hose directly to your cat, bypassing the ACV.

that works on 1st gens, not sure if it'll fly on a 2nd gen.

instead of decreasing the parts, increase the millions! :)

jhammons01 02-22-05 02:48 PM

^That's a good one

He already tried that, if you can desipher his original post.

a buddy of mine's corolla passed with straight pipes after he used aviation fuel and alchohol. he said it burned so clean, the exhasut tip rurned white.

that is exactly what i did... and still 700 over the limit... time to turn this POS into a track car, or a paper weight

neu 02-22-05 02:59 PM

my last resort is buying 4 new injectors, or getting mine cleaned up and rebuilt...
does anyone think leaky injectors could cause the HC's to be that high? 700 over the limit?
HC's are caused by unburned fuel so.. this could be the problem? any input?

neu 02-22-05 03:44 PM

anyone know of a quick way to find out if the injectors are leaking? (without pulling them) like.. i could leave my fuel pump on, and see if it floods or something? would this help narrow it down?

wthdidusay82 02-22-05 03:49 PM

What you need is to find a place that will slap the sticker on for 100 bucks...i know 2 people that do that here in RI .... too bad u dont live in RI i could get u the hookup

neu 02-22-05 03:51 PM

yeah, i thought about asking the dude if he would take some $$ to pass me. but he was old and nearly deaf ... probably wouldnt have been too good if i had to yell 'HEY IF I SLIP YOU 50 BUCKS WILL YOU PASS ME'

Aaron Cake 02-22-05 03:57 PM

Have you checked your coolant temp sensor (the one on the water pump housing)?

neu 02-22-05 03:59 PM

no, i havent checked that... could you tell me how i could check it.. on a poor mans tool budget..

Digi7ech 02-22-05 04:01 PM

Only real way woudl be to pull them and then zip tie them to the fuel rails and fire the engine. You can then watch the spray pattern of them to see of any leak or have a bad spray.
