We are working on some new cast FC oil pans

We have a new FC3S Cast oil pan for both the turbo and non-turbo engines currently under construction. We are making 100 units, and these should be availble in about 70 days roughly, currently the mold is being machined. These do not sit below the OEM subframe, features a trap door baffle system( no pictured, its a seperate sheet metal component that bolts in), holds 1 more quart than OEM, is O-ringed, with a .650" thick sealing flange. It also features a 1/8 NPT oil temp sensor port( comes with plug), and a 10AN orb extra crankcase vent/non turbo oil drain return port( casted, machined, but requires drilling out for those who want to use it). This pan will not only seal up any oil leaks, but prevent oil slosh on the track, and keep your oil cooler, and cleaner.

looks real nice. the extra oil is cool and i definitely like that, but i think i like the possible extra rigidity a little more.

Interested!

I would really much rather purchase this oil pan for my new engine build,(The one that many members know that I have been fretting about!), instead of using a new factory type pan. The reason, of course, for wanting to use a new oil pan is to avoid the possibility of oil leaks from an slight tweaked pan gasket rail. With the cast aluminum construction, this gasket rail would be completely rigid and would ensure even pressure across the entire gasket surface, provided that the oil pan bolts are torqued correctly.

Hope plenty of them are made...They would look great on a new engine, and would be a worthy upgrade!

I like that it has the temp sensor port and the optional vent return.

We are making 100 off the bat, as normal with all of our cast products. Doing the last test fit today, just to double check, and then we start the mold in about 2 more days. I will post some photos as we progress.

I mean there is NOTHING worse than starting a fresh rebuild for it to have to leak oil from the pan, which everyone has probably experienced at least once.

Quick test on a full scale 3D printed pan( took 4 entire days to print here! )
Everything looks good, working on the Stainless Billet mold now and the bolt in trap door system( sheet metal ).

Raw units have been cast, and in machining now.

Since the OEM oil level sensor does not fit, what are you thinking for an alternative?

Technically if one really wants one, we can machine it in house( for the OEM level sensor) but then you won't be able to use the trap door system( this part just bolts in and out).

Any ETA on the FD units? Do you have any pictures of the prototype? The extra capacity is great, but the real highlight is the thicker flange to help prevent those forbidden oil leaks.

The FC units are close to being finished, and work will start on the FD models. I will get the design photos uploaded hopefully be the end of this week.

Gotcha, we’ve been having a discussion in the 3rd Gen section about oil pans, and some of us would prefer the low-level sensor over the trap door. If you could provide the option to install the low-level sensor, that would be awesome. As you know, not many of us are tracking our FDs, so a trap door system would be less in demand for a street car. I’d much rather have a low-level sensor to avoid risking these ridiculously expensive engines.

That is on our radar, we can obvious one off machine them for those who don't want the track model, or come to think of it, we might just include a block off plate for the OEM sensor( o-ring'd) so one can take it off, and add the low level sensor. Probably do some sort of stands for saftey wire to make it really fool proof for those who don't intend to use it..

Whatever works best for your manufacturing process is fine. The rigidity of your cast pan is a huge selling point, as it should be far less prone to leaks than the OEM pan, especially with the engine mounts bolting through it and oil sitting above the pan. I’d love to see the O-ring design, and feel free to post updates when they’re ready. Since your pan is rigid, it could also support a gasket with 'eyelets' for the engine mount holes. That would be awesome, though I understand it would require more R&D and a custom gasket. Just an idea.

We are now working on the bolt in trap door system, and will be testing these on some fresh engines soon to confirm fitment/leak free assembly etc.

From the bottom of my heart; Thank you for making **** like this for this old and niche platform. I wish i had more money to spare so i could do actual "food on the table" support, and not just words.

Still working on the FD pans guys, but we have installed and ran our first FC pan to double check fitment, sealing etc. We are trying to wrap up the bolt in trap door systems now. We are increasing production run to 100 for the FC models, as these are a lot more popular than I thought.
