Vert speakers

I got this 90 vert a few months ago. did all S5 vert have speakers in back of the seats. I looked at the FSM and didn't see them. I only saw the door/headrest speakers. Anyone know what size they are?

LookThatsMe 12-19-04 11:59 PM

6.5

LookThatsMe 12-19-04 11:59 PM

Right behind the seats. I see a speaker grill. This is a vert

Icemark 12-20-04 12:04 AM

the most 89+ verts had speakers behind the seats, but all 89+ verts had headrest speakers (the 88 was the only year where head rest speakers were optional).

cool, I just took off the cover and the speaker is tiny.. wonder what size it is?

LookThatsMe 12-20-04 12:16 AM

ohhh i dont know about the headrest speakers... go to best buy and go on the computer thing and it will tell you the size

i bought my vert from ari over at rotary performance... he had some 6x9's in there, but i would hardly think they were stock size... the fitment kinda sucked

6x9's!!! In the headrest? Damn- i bet it would suck...

The speaker behind the 'vert seat has a nice big enclosure . . .
. . . but it is a four inch speaker! :D (Not a bad one for an OEM sound system tho! Made by Pioneer too.)

little woofers!

Tofuball 12-20-04 07:32 AM

The door speakers, I belive, are 6.5, the rear is 4, and the headrest are these scary little squares, but I modified mine to fit some nice Infinity Kappa 3.5s :)

Me too, those work great!

I replaced the ones in the little box behind the seats with some Polks I got from Cruthfield. I belived they were 4"

Loredous 12-20-04 06:21 PM

Yeah, There isn't much you can do about getting speakers to fit nicely in the headrests... Tried BB and Circut City... neither of them shows that the car even has speakers in the headrest.....

MIDNFauciUSN 12-20-04 06:34 PM

the 6x9's were in the box behind the seats... isnt that what the original post was about???

gonzz 12-21-04 12:16 AM

I took off the cover of the speakers behind the seats and the speaker is real small..

LOL no one said anything about telling him to go to the "audio" section. The nice guys must be on ;-)

intresting

MIDNFauciUSN 12-23-04 01:37 PM

yeah, thats where ari threw the 6x9's... the magnet is a little too big and they kina poke out... not very good sq!

Tofuball 12-23-04 09:56 PM

Uh, dude. The STOCK speakers are 4 inches. He was asking about the stock speaker sizes. Not really what you CAN cram back there :-p

I had 6x9s back there too. But I swapped them back out for the stock system, cuz get this, I think the stock system sounded better :)

tecknomage 12-24-04 01:47 AM

is it posibal to do that to a s4 vert ? or should i just go with putting a sub back with the spair and is there any head unit that will alow me to use the head rest speakers because after 16 years the stock cd player is getting really tempermental it likes to skip a lot with most cd's
