Variable resistor

isnt the VR supposed to have guides to how far lean or rich you can tune your car?
Now I can turn my as far right or left as I want it without hitting any barrier...
Should this be the first thing I replace on my car?

It only affects idle trim.
It can't hurt anything else.

Tune the BAC? You can use the air mix screw to adjust, but again, thats an idle adjustment...
