Value my FC
 

So I've been building an 87 FC TII for the past few years and recently I've lost my drive to work on it. My life has gotten very busy and when I do get some free time, I have no desire to work on it. My plan was to build it right and have a reliable race/ street car, and I haven't completely given up on it but it looks like I may have to take a step back. So I'm weighing my options right now. Option 1, store the 7 for a few years until I have more time. Option 2, sell it and let someone else finish it.
So this thread is exploring option 2. If I were to sell it, I have no idea what it's actually worth. If it's worth a lot, I'd be more inclined to sell it. If it's worth too little, then I'd be more inclined to keep it and finish it in the future. So I guess I'm asking for opinions on what my RX7 is worth. Here's the highlights:
87 RX7 Turbo II M/T
Clean title, little to no rust (desert car)
Freshly built half-bridge 13b with full slip-fit stud kit and lightened and balanced. Machine work done by Adam at rotaryengine.com. He said at the time, the engine is capable of supporting over the 700HP I was aiming for. He also said if he was selling it, it would be worth over 10K. (lots of details in the build thread)
It does run and drive, though it's still in the break in phase so it's not tuned anywhere near where it should be.
Lots of mods currently installed, turbo, coilovers, exhaust, FMIC, upgraded oil cooler, staggered rims etc.

Bads:
The worst of it is it's not finished, it will need a standalone, aftermarket gauges, tuning, finish the fuel system upgrades.
Also this is a desert car that's been sitting outside for a long time, so the paint is pretty crappy and most of the interior plastics are breaking. The dash is a lost cause.
Although I've done plenty of electrical work and gotten most of the systems working, I haven't gotten around to getting everything working (radio, idiot light cluster, sun roof, etc.)

Everything done to the car has been done professionally (I'm an ASE certified technician) and I do have plenty of receipts. So give me your thoughts, and I'll try to answer any questions. Check out the build thread for details and plenty of pictures.

that one is tough, what i would do is to come up with a price, and basically see if anyone wants it for that. if no, you just keep it.

the presentation needs to get better too. you need a list of mods, with pics of the receipts and then pics of the car that show off how straight it is, but also all the flaws.
the potential buyer needs to think it looks better when they see it in person, and also think they understand what they are getting into.

go look at some bring a trailer ads, the big dollar cars are presented better.

I'd start here too. Find out what it's worth to you, and see if anyone is willing to pay that. If not, you might have your answer.

I will add that when I'm looking for these older cars one of the most important things to me is good condition interior. Paint and body work can be redone, but you can't as easily refinish a toasted dash, as an example. So i don't usually knock too much off for a car that needs paint, because most 30+ year old cars need paint. But missing, broken, or toasted interior is a huge hit for me. If there's any chance you can detail further the state of the interior that helps clear things up for potential buyers.

I’d put a dollar/value amount from 6k to 12k from what I see.

Clean fc, good foundation with the engine, not finished but leaves options open to the next owner.

The important electrical gremlins seem to have been fixed or at least identified. Runs, but not running on the ems it needs.

Suspension/drivetrain parts/upgrades should be listed if they’re not already to gauge the health of the chassis and money invested/saved. Figured since it’s been raced it might have recent good mods.

Thanks for the replies. After posting this, I've been thinking a lot about what I would really accept as selling point for the 7 and I think it's much higher than anyone else is willing to pay. Honestly, it's probably more than I would be willing to pay if I were a potential buyer. As a couple of you said, presentation is key, and my 7 isn't there. At this point it's looking like I should keep it and finish it. Thanks for helping me come to a conclusion guys.

so i had an Rx8 i bought, put an engine in and then put up for sale. i went up in the hills and took a ton of really awesome pictures and then when the first person showed up to look at it in real life they were, lets say underwhelmed.

you need it to look better in real life than the pics, but the pics need to be decent. (minimum 4 on the outside, each corner, with the car in them. a couple on the inside, and then at least one under the hood)
