Value?

Can sombody give me an estimated value for a private party selling a 1988 Turbo II with 98K miles? Its all stock except for Ground Control coilovers and Koni 5 way adjustable shocks.

RotaryEvolution 01-07-05 04:39 PM

is it a 10th Anniversary edition?

Andrew. 01-07-05 04:51 PM

I think this is the one on craiglist for 5k

hmmm, there's a listed price, then there's a price people are willing to pay. I got lucky with my seven, 75K for 3K but I see people that sell them for five all the time. I'd ask for five and see the response you get, I'm sure someone will buy it.

Yeep.... I want to figure out a resonable price of offer the seller.

JamesBong 01-07-05 05:46 PM

I looked at the post, It dosn't look like there's been much work done to it to justify $5000 in this area. I'd offer him $3500 and go from there, if it's a recient rebuild, it might be worth what he's asking. If you want a TII, but don't need an s5, I also found these in the area.

Yeah I'd say 3000 to 3800 sounds about right.

Andrew. 01-07-05 05:54 PM

Yeah look for another one. the 2nd one that bong posted up sounds nice.

1st one is the best. Go look at it and if its in good shape its definately worth paying extra over the other two listed.

2nd one.. why primered? Look, he wants a AE86, obviously a drifter, probably primered to cover accident damage. Willing to pay for paint? $2k min for an OK job.

3rd one, too many miles. Plus personally I don't trust it when they say 0 mile engines, that is used as an excuse for things to not work right. "Oh, its not broken in yet, it'll be smoother later, that smoke will go away"

I'm probably in the minority here, but I believe you get what you pay for. The best isn't always the cheapest, especially with cars. You'll end up regretting it later.

side question i have is were all T2 in '88 10AE edition?

RotaryWeaponSE7EN 01-07-05 06:54 PM

NO only 2500 of them were the AE's.

RotaryEvolution 01-07-05 07:11 PM

I thought it was only 1500?

MakoRacing[FC] 01-07-05 08:00 PM

I don't have $3500 to spend yet. I sort of got this strange idea that I would be able to find a good condtion T2 for around its blue book value. Heh, I must be pretty foolish.

RotaryWeaponSE7EN 01-08-05 09:05 AM

Ok my bad 1500. *Slaps himself for being a moron*

gerbraldy 01-08-05 09:16 AM

10th ae :p, do they make 20th ae for the jdm 98' rx7's? I could go for a couple of those. who cares if only 1500 were made, get the badges, steering wheel, cool alarm system and you got yourself a 10thae. Remember it is just another TII.

RotaryWeaponSE7EN 01-08-05 09:19 AM

I cant believe u said that. To most of us its not just another TII. But whatever.

MakoRacing[FC] 01-08-05 11:22 AM

This isn't a 10th AE... I just somehow figured it would go for $2500 not $5000.

RotaryWeaponSE7EN 01-08-05 02:18 PM

5000 is high just for a TII. Especially a 88, unless its got like only 30k miles on it.

PureSephiroth 01-08-05 04:25 PM

look out of state. RX-7's seem to be pretty unreasonably priced in California. TII's around here are generally pretty cheap. About the $2500 mark for one in good condition. Your neighboring states probably have some more good deals out there.

I think being in the Bay Area goes along with the pricing, hell everything is expensive here, even the air! If I could get plenty of pictures to justify going out of state I like your idea. Other then Nevada, its an 8 hour car drive to Oregon.

RotaryEvolution 01-09-05 01:59 AM

your point is?

i drove 700 miles one way to pick up then trailer my non running T2 home.

You want a cookie? I don't have enough free time for adventures like that.

Corbit 01-09-05 02:18 AM

I'll take your cookie , I took a bus 1100 mile's to Chico to pick up a vert for $500 and drove it home.

MakoRacing[FC] 01-09-05 01:00 PM
