i don't know why the guy was so concerned about getting ripped for using a honda fan, we all use different stuff, i have a fiero fan, others perfer the tauraus fan.. anyone know how many CFM's this prelude fan is? i know my fiero fan is 2500..

at least get a shrowd.. damn. that fan missing over half of the damn fins

wired on all the time is not the way to run an electric fan. coolant will never get to normal operating temps :(

Nonsense.
The coolant will reach whatever temp the thermostat tells it to.

The problem with a "always-on" efan install is that it's terribly inefficient since instead of working in concert, the different components are essentially fighting each other.

In a perfect world, you want the thermostat open as wide and often as possible and the fan off as much as possible.

Running the fan all the time means the thermostat is always competing with the radiator to keep the coolant at operating temp.

A properly set up efan install is infinitely superior to a mechanical fan, but an always on setup is actually worse.
Either do it right or don't do it at all.

Also, your theory is flawed that t will increase hp. the stock fan doesnt spin all the time.

how much energy does it take to move the stock fan? when you hook up an electrical fan, it runs through the alternator that has to do more work now. more work means more resistence on it meaning the engine is using the same is not a lil more power to power the e-fan.

plus your e-fan sucks. its too small, and it isnt covering up enough of the radiator.

Yes, it does.

I just wired up an efan over the weekend, Taurus dual speed on a temp probe using Aaron Cakes write-up. My old manual fan always spinned, so it seems to warm up much quicker now. Couldn't be happier, and the extra engine bay room is quite nice.

my car would never pass 180 degrees at any point in time with the fans always on. cold nites it would stay at 175. it shouldve been at 190 ish from my understanding. it wasnt on a rx7 though.

So your old car, which has nothing to do with an RX-7 and may have a bad thermostat, didn't reach operating temperature with an e-fan in place? This isn't relevant information at all.

A car, RX-7 or not, with a properly working thermostat, will run at thermostat temperature even if the fan runs all the time. This is the purpose of the thermostat. As a practical point of reference, my e-fan controller last summer was a bit confused and the fan ran at 100% all the time. The temperature according to my Microtech? 84 degrees, which is exactly the temperature stamped on the thermostat.
