Turn Signal Problems

I have a 87 TII.
No left or right turn signal. The flashers work. All bulbs are ok, just came seem to find out why they don't. All fuses are good.

Need help please

You need to make sure your turn signal switch is working properly, if that turns out ok your CPU turn signal relay is probably out. On the RX7's the turn signals and hazards run through the cpu which controls the lights. If you search CPU here you can find out about rebuilding the hazard/turn signal portion of the CPU located on the drivers kick panel. It's a common problem.

I take it you HEAR the flasher and that's how you know the flasher works. So let me ask you this......does the turn indicator on the dash go on/off as the flasher clicks? I mean the two little green arrow indicators on the instrument panel.

The reason I ask is this: the output wire for those little green indicators on the instrument panel come from the output side of the flasher unit. If they blink as the flasher clicks, then the problem lies elsewhere than the CPU.

Also what happens if you press the HAZARD button? Do the side lights flash or not. Both green indicator lights on the dash flash in HAZARD mode?

The fuses involved are the HAZARD and the TURN fuses. Both have to be good. But you say the flasher works so I assume they are good. But check that HAZARD fuse once more.

Just addding info in addition to JJCOBM's post above.

The hazard lights work, the arrows on the dash flash and the lights on the outside flash also. The high beam lights also work. I figure it has to be the switch. I am gonna put a ohm meter to the switch and check it according to the FSM and see what readins I get.

I'd just select left with the key ON and probe the left and right signal wires on the CPU plug. IF power shows up, the switch is good and the problem is????? cold solder joint at the jack on the CPU? Yeah, if both left and right don't work when selected, but work if the HAZARD button is used, then it could very well be the switch/plug.

I did the turn signal test according to the FSM. Didn't find any continuity when I switched left or right. So I figure it is the switch.

Any chance you have a seires five switch in a series four car? I guess if you've seen it work in the past, that's not the case. But have you?

It came with the car, it should be a S4 switch. I should get a good switch in a couple days so will see what happens.
Like what I said earlier I did the continuity test on the switch and it failed. The switch got power and the high beam worked.

Got a swicth from pj7140 and installed it a couple minutes ago. Everything worked fine. The arrows on the dash worked and also the outside lights. So it was definately the switch.
I am good now..
