Trans problems! Help!

The lever for the slave cylinder on the transmission is very easy to move, and it lays in the pushed in position at rest.

I recently removed the slave, and noticed that there's 0 pressure on the actual lever.

Anyone understand what I'm talking about?

And I'm thinking this means new pilot bearing?

Anyone? Anyone?

usually the pressure plate is supposed to provide pressure to the arm. it is very hard to move by hand.

So there shouldn't really be any play at all on the arm? Because there's about an inch or more play in it.

Would this be a whole new clutch, or just a single part?

I agree.

I have never had a pressure plate go bad, but I always replace it when I replace the disc. I went out and looked at a tranny in my shed and I didnt see a way for something else to fail that would give you the same symptoms, but I am often amazed at what can go wrong.

Good luck,

Joe

There's only 5 things in there to check. Clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and the clutch fork. Unfortunately, you will have to pull the tranny to check any of those. My guess? Throwout bearing jumped off the fork.
