I just got this t04b bb turbo thinking it was going to be a monster turbo, but when I compared it to the stock turbo II turbo I was a little shocked. not much bigger that stock. only the cold side is slightly bigger

any of you guys have to4bs??

Here is my 60-1 on my car from turbonetics, sorry I dont have any pics of just the turbo itself at the moment, But its quite a bit larger then my old stocker

MOBEONER 10-11-06 09:40 PM

man i like that cold side housing with the big turbonetics imprint on it..

what wastegate are you using with that turbo???

vipers 10-11-06 09:42 PM

damn... that is a little small.... doesnt look much bigger at all.... glad i went t70

Turbo23 10-11-06 09:44 PM

turbosmart 38mm gate, plenty big for what I need

MOBEONER 10-11-06 09:48 PM

how about your manifold ,i have been trying to find a good manifold

snowball 10-11-06 09:50 PM

TO4B is small, really only a 350-375whp turbo.

stevensimon 10-11-06 09:53 PM

looks like its a bit bigger

MOBEONER 10-11-06 09:55 PM

well i guess thats ok for now considering its on a stock tII engine

Turbo23 10-11-06 10:01 PM

his turbo does look small, so those numbers sound right. The manifold I have is made by 1revvin7 and is ceramic coated inside and out. You can get it at turblown.net

Your 60-1 comes with a T04B compressor cover - 3" inlet.
Some of the 60-1's come with a TS04 compressor cover - 4" inlet.
Do you have a 60-1 "Hi-Fi"?

Your 60-1 also comes with an on-center turbine housing.
This might not fit, depending on the turbo exhaust manifold.
The on-center also is not as efficient as a tangential.

Here is a pic of the turbonetics 60-1 compared to a hybrid S5 T04

The rest of the pics of the project are at this link : http://www.banzairacing.net/fehsenfeld_smp.htm

Whizbang 10-12-06 12:40 PM

put it on the car and im sure the difference will be considerable (in performance terms)

Node 10-13-06 12:18 AM

thats a good looking car banzai

MOBEONER 10-14-06 04:35 PM

i am sure its gonna make more power than stock.

does any of you know whats the better wategate to match this turbo??

MOBEONER 10-15-06 07:15 AM

any one

hondahater 10-15-06 07:59 AM

38 to 40mm will be fine I'm sure. Also listen to reted about the oncenter housing. If you are using a cast hks or ebay knock off it will not fit until you get a tangential housing.

MOBEONER 10-15-06 10:52 AM

what manifold will this housing fit?

I need to take a picture of this for people. I see so many people running that turbine housing, and they don't know that it will make a considerable negative impact on " turbo lag"

That turbo will make a LOT more than the stock turbo...

i dont understand what you said!....so my turbo housing it good or bad??

hondahater 10-15-06 12:42 PM

tangential housing fitment.

https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...hmentid=188765

oncenter housing fitment.

https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...hmentid=184587

as you can tell the tangential housing works great however the oncenter just doesn't fit (turbine side hits the frame rail). you can get a hammer and dent the thing or cut it but I just think thats ghetto. Also the oncenter housing is very restrictive compared to the tangential housing.

edit: also if you deside to stay with the 4bolt flanged oncenter housing please note that the 4bolt pattern is differant than the tange 4 bolt pattern so you have to specify to whoever you get the downpipe flange from that you need one for an oncenter housing.

MOBEONER 10-15-06 09:02 PM

hoooo shit i see what you mean!!!!..damn now i have to spend another $300 for a tang housing?? shit man this shit is getting too expensive...

my exhaust housing is .81 A/R can i upgrade to a bigger like housing with out changing the turbine wheel??

or should i keep .81 just upgrade it to a div-tang

Well.. i had something similar,(or maybe i am not understanding proper) but had to use a spacer (i'll get a pic to show ya). And remember the outlet hole from the compressor is bigger then the stocker. Remember 10PSI Thru a straw IS NOT EQUAL to 10PSI thru a papertowel roll. Both are 10PSI yes, but the volume of air being pushed is quite different, almost exponentially so keep that inmind.

MOBEONER 10-15-06 10:47 PM

where did you get that spacer?
will that work with my turbo?

i have spend about $6,000 on parts and i realy can`t aford to go buying more i need quick solutions to what i have
