Anyone know how to properly time the engine on the 13b n/t '87? :wallbash:
A stupid question.... Does a rotary engine even HAVE timing.... I mean, I think it does, but this is my first one so, I could easily be wrong. We start it, it goes up to about 3k rpm average, and stalls then cuts. It won't stay idling, and we can't throttle it to survive..... Quite the dillema, considering all the major work we've already done. |
I don't want to state the obvious but have you looked at the free factory service manual (FSM) that is all over the internet?
http://www.rx7city.com/Manuals/88%20Manual/3_ENGINE.pdf Maybe section 1-8 will tell you. |
Hey mate, you just made my week. I've been working on this car with alot of trial and error mechanical work. I wasn't aware of that manual, and GREATLY appreciative of the epiphany!!!!!

Make sure your AFM is plugged in.

i *think* its not a good idea to do trial and error on rotaries. Detonation is really bad for it right?
