tid mod clarifications
There's lots of talk of it, but I'm going to ask some questions to clarify my understanding of it.
I'm keeping the airpump in place. Will a 92-95 civic intake (what most people seem to use) still fit? There's a nipple for the BOV. What about other stuff, like the sensor that plugs in? My only tool will be a hacksaw. Can't do any welding or stuff. Will this be sufficient? |
Getting around the air pump is the problem.
The stock CAI is not perfect, but it's not that bad either. Unless you are fabricating a new CAI, what you gain in flow you loose in air temperature. |
So a civic intake won't fit with the airpump in place? Thanks. Oh, and I've just got a simple box setup with a filter and some air funneled up from below.

I'm going to replace the TID because this is my second one with a tear near the turbo.
My friends have bought the FD TID setup off of Ebay and successfully used it to make a CAI as well. Prettty cool. It snakes down into the fender where the washer bottle is. They are running a Haltech and have intake temp numbers to prove it works. |
