temputure problem

So yesterday i put my new radiator in my S5 and i went out for a test drive for a couple of mins. I noticed that my temp gauge was getting close to H aka death. I shut her down for a couple of mins and when i started her back up. The temp was at normal. Then on the way back it would go up and down. No idiot lights came on and i fill the radiator up to the max. Anyone have a clue what going on?

when you install a new radiator and fill it up, you have to let all the excess air out of the coolant system, start your car up with the radiator cap off, and air should bubble up a little and just keep topping it off. but don't let it get too warmed up. also, make sure it's not leaking coolant. and that you put your undertray back on.

do you have a clutch fan or a e-fan? make sure it's working. why did you replace your radiator in the first place?
