Stock Boost Gauge PWM Problem
Strange predicament trying to get my stock boost gauge working with the haltech elite. It works absolutely great when I tested with 5v sensor ref and dpo2 from the ecu, but will not work with any other 5v I give it. I tried 5v from an lm7805, got a slight budge. I tried a voltage divider to make 5v, nothing. Why could that be?
It would be much easier to just feed it 12v. Can I do that or would it fry the gauge? I have my dpo wired to the gauge's ground end, and tried my 5v sources connected to the other end of the gauge. |
More info: I think current has something to do with it. At 5v 100% d/c it draws more than an amp. The 7805 limits the current and so does the voltage divider. Also it doesnt work with any analogue signal, only pwm.

So you're saying it doesn't get enough amps to run the gauge? Maybe a larger or higher rated buck/boost converter to produce a 5V circut for anything you need.

i think its just a 0-5v voltmeter, the stock car is just teed in with the stock Map sensor
