its right inline with the front of the car i figured the bumper would go back on .its right under where the bump stops are for the hood
|
do u still have the fiberglass bumper on or did u remove that?
|
ok it looks like u removed the fiberglass bumper and the mounts for it so u will just be putting the bumper cover over it
|
oh yeah its to big for the fiberglass bump and stuff
|
lol ok...
|
i think thats theres only 1 intercooler that actaully dosent require removing the fiberglass bumper
|
gottcha
as long as I can get it on I will be happy |
I painted the uim all gunmetal...
I also mounted the intercooler today http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...I/IMG00019.jpg Sorry for the big pic. |
Well here is what I have got accomplished today
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...I/IMG00020.jpg I have the holes cut so the pipes are going into the engine bay I just need to get things snugged up and clamped down and a couple pipes cut and it will be on... first I need a higgi/greddy elbow another thing I forgot last minute taken with cell phone sorry for the big pic |
looks goo so far man. i may need ur help to do mine haha. what did u use to hold up the core?
|
it came with a couple brackets that I bent into place well rx7tuner bent into place, and we bolted it up today and put the pipes in..
|
ok here are some I got from late tonight... I got the holes cut, the pipes run into the engine bay now I just need a couple couplers, and the higgi/greddy elbow
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...e/DSCF3708.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...e/DSCF3698.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...e/DSCF3704.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...e/DSCF3700.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...e/DSCF3703.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...e/DSCF3701.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...e/DSCF3702.jpg Yes the car is on an angle.. OK what do u think? |
looks good did u actually manage to get the couplers to fit over the intercooler? man i tried and tried
|
nope I bought 2 new ones. 3" to 2.5" couplers 5.00 each
|
heck with that monster on the front u shouldnt even run a front facia hahaha
|
and your question about the harness. its all plug and play unless u want to run emmisons and cruse controle. and u have to change 1 wire to get the actuator on the twin scroll to open if u are using the stock s4 turbo. but most people just leave it alone and dont worry about it because it only makes u spool alittle slower but nothing noticable really
|
no emissions, no twin scroll, no cruse
the one thing I did notice is the T2 tps looks like a 3 wire where the n/a tps I think was a 2 wire.. I cant find a 3 wire connector on my harness |
did u move coolant resovoir?
s4 turbo/na tps shoukd be the same if i remember? |
nope the coolant res has always been on the drivers fender.. I think its an 86' thing.. because everyone asks me that..
I have to find that 3 wire connector on my harness then because I cant find it lol EDIT Ok I looked at my old tps I sold and it was a 3 prong also... now I have to find that 3 prong connector on my harness hummm |
lol its like a yellowish white conector haha. i think its on the same harness as air intake and coolant temp?
yea. u think the coolant bottle will be in the way of the fmic if it was located in other year position? |
no because the res sites between the radiator supper and bumper support.. this sits outside of it all...
I will look for that connector today! |
looks good spooled , that gunmetal looks awsome
|
Thx I appreciate it really..
|
Ok no pictures today (atleast not now)
I have done the following turbo ECU installed Walbro installed TPS wires lengthened I need 2 couplers 1 banjo bolt and the higgi/greddy elbow and I can get the car ready to start |
Hey i just spent a few hours reading through your build up and it looks good. I'm just south of Flint, MI. I'm not sure where Comstock is. But, I just about where you are. I'm working on getting mine started.
I like that FMIC tho. |
