Small Turbo on an N/A

Haven't been on in a while guys, damn hurricane.......... but I was sitting around in the dark and wondering if any of you guys have put a small turbo on your N/A S4 RX-7. I am wondering if it is possible to run a small turbo with 3 or 4 pounds of boost. If sombody has done this, can you tell me what setup you are running and also about how much the mod cost you, I would appreciate it. BTW.... I did search for what I needed, but didn't really get my answer........... thanks guys

I was looking through the FAQ and i didnt find any information on this...maybe you could be the FIRST person to do this?!! that would be terribly exciting!!!!

SGesel 11-06-05 10:46 PM

Could be HAHA.... but I don't have the funds to spend money on something that might not work. But if nobody has done it, maybe I will.............. :smiley309

cwsttu 11-06-05 11:03 PM

haha hope you know he was joking..... eh i bet you do and yes its been done several times... with many many diff turbos just search around for a 6-port turbo n/a and youll see! :)

SGesel 11-07-05 12:12 AM

Yeah I know he was joking, I was looking for someone to tell me some details on what they did ie- what turbo they used and how much boost they run without putting too much stress on the motor. Just wanted to see if there was somebody that has done what I was thinking about doing. Thanks for the flames, but if anyone can point me in the right direction for some actual information, I would appreciate it. And I did search, hard to wade through all the BS and flames to get to some helpful info these days lol

gingenhagen 11-07-05 02:29 AM

a write-up, eh? like the one given as the very first thing in the FAQ?

cwsttu 11-07-05 08:42 AM

search at nopistons.com there is a write-up somewhere over there, im not saying the guy did it "right" or its "good" but it is a write up and he shows what he did step by step

SGesel 11-07-05 09:18 AM

What I am looking for isn't in the FAQ, I don't want to swap motors, just give my motor a little extra turbo power on my N/A, without pulling 5 grand into the motor. Thanks for the search ideas though guys, I'll check them out.

I know someone who did this to a GSL-SE ... it's fast.

if you do it make sure your engine is healthy first, i did it and tossed a coolant seal before i drove it.
